EA Increases Voting Stake in Ubisoft
by Carlos Bergfeld, Aug 08, 2007 2:46pm PDTEA increased its ownership of voting shares in fellow publisher Ubisoft to around 25 percent today, Forbes reported. Previously holding around 20 percent in voting shares, EA now controls 15 percent of the Paris-based publisher's capital. EA said it will increase its stake in Ubisoft "depending on market conditions," essentially saying it will buy more of the company if it "feels like it." It could even nominate board members if the need arose, according to the report.
