Shack tees! If you are not at QC ... here's how to get them, for those who missed the info 2 days ago. If you ARE at QC and don't have your free shack tee ... read the bottom of this post please.

Mail orders: Please use www.paypal.com to detail your request and make payment at the same time. Payment is to sHugamom@gmail.com. I still have about 900 tees, so there's plenty.

The pink ones are a bit shorter and shaped for women, 100% cotton. The white ones are Hanes 50-50s ... comfortable in the heat but with less wrinkling. White sizes are S,M,L,XL, XXL, XXXL. The pink larger sizes are gone but I still have S&M left. I can get more made if there's a call though. Those ordered by this weekend will be mailed to you on Monday.

Cost: US mailing cost is included. The first shirt is sweet $16, and only $6 for each additional tee to the same address. It's okay to mix sizes or colors. If you're not USA, add $6 and I'll send it.

Go to www.paypal.com to send money to sHugamom@gmail.com Send me your:

a. shacker name
b. real name and address
c. tee-shirt size(s) and color choice (usually white for men and pink for women).

Note that I'm "authorized" to hold all money made this year in the sale of shack tees ... to go towards another special shacknews party that we'd love to have in 2008! This is the shacktees slush fund! We have white tees.

QUAKECON Attendees: I will be doing a "drive-up" around 8pm tonight to the front of the hotel with all the tees labeled for shackers ... who requested through Rosewood. If this time does not work for Rosewood due to the Fogo mania ... we'll see about maybe 9:45 ish... because I have to be at DFW to pick up my sugar-bear at 9, dat's why. Dearest darlin' Rosewood has kindly been gathering the shack names and size info of people who want a shirt @ QC but who weren't there yesterday. One shirt at QC is free, additionals are $5. A couple of the shackers who have ordered via paypal have actually kicked in a couple bucks for next year festivities.

What is the best app to remove spyware these days? My dad says he keeps getting strange popups in windows. It's obviously spyware, but I really don't know what the best app to remove all that stuff is these days. Suggestions? Maybe I should just explain to him how to turn on remote assistance and fix it like that.

Why do people live in Phoenix? Jesus its hot and it sucks and WHY are there so many fat people? Its too hot to be fat!!!!

Also Vegas rules. Its loud, shiny, tacky, and you can drink outside and smoke inside. My kind of place. As fun as it was with my dad, I plan on going back with about $1000 more to blow and either alone or with someone my own age for a weekend.

Oh and the Hoover Dam is JUST like Rainbow 6 in that fucker. We got a special tour because my dad knows some of the guys that run the power plant there. I got to peak out of the little vent hole in the side of the dam. we took the special dam tour.

gotta love the absolute hypocrisy of the MPAA. good to see some good old fashioned investigation to expose the secret ratings board and discover who is on the transparent but totally secret appeals board. and it really makes me sick to see how much censorship really goes on there. did you know that they have 2 members of the clergy sitting on the board casting votes as to what's ok and what's not? how ridiculous is that.

you should all check it out, i see plenty of bitching about what gets what rating around here

Whenever I used to plug in my iPod it would take forever to load in iTunes (and it would take forever to transfer songs).

So I decided to nuke it. Chose Restore from iTunes and waited...and waited...and unplugged it and reformatted it in Windows to see if that cleared up whatever was wrong with the iPod. Went back to Restore it, and waited...and it's been an hour restoring.

I assume this isn't normal. Any ideas on wtf I can do? Apple.com support is no help :(

So far I'm really happy with my PS3 purchase; it's nice to have all three next gen consoles. There's a lot I like about the system, and Motorstorm is quite awesome; and it looks good on an SDTV! The Remote Play feature with the PSP may actually be my favorite feature simply because I can now watch movies streamed from my PC to my PS3 TO my PSP anywhere I have internet.

Hopefully they get their network stuff together though; while the PSN Store isn't BAD, Live Marketplace it leaps and bounds better.

Car Experts

While driving to Dallas yesterday I ran over a huge piece of black rubber from an 18 wheeler's tire. It was extremely big and took up the entire lane... It was impossible to avoid. I was going close to 80, It was in a construction zone and there was no shoulder, there was an 18 wheeler in the other lane, and another car was very close behind me.

My car seemed to work fine afterwards, but driving more I noticed that every time I make a right turn there's a horrible grinding type noise. It only happens when I turn right. I looked under the car and there does not seem to be any leaks, and I don't visibly see any damage. Any ideas of what could have happened?

OMG!!! I realized as i was about to rack out that I forgot to say THANK YOU to themelon and mrsthemelon for throwing this 100% AWESOME Shacker party for QuakeCon, and as I was about to Shackmessage him my thanks, I decided to make it public.

A LOT of work went in to setting this up for us, and a LOT of people had a LOT of fun. They completely opened up their badass home for us, set up tons of entertainment, food and drink for DAYS, and people very obviously enjoyed themselves and each other. There were games and movies on projector, and they let their Great Dane puppy roam around saying hi to people and sniffing their ears so hard a couple peoples' heads caved in! He even had a PC in the kitchen so we could Shack, you know, in case we missed communicating with Shackers or something. Drunks are sleeping peacefully there as we speak. A toast to the Melons, may Duke Nukem never be miffed at you!!!

Quakecon 2007 is almost over. :_(

This whole Quakecon has been EPIC! I don't know if there will ever be as big a group of Shackers in one place ever again ( I really really hope there will be though). This has been one for the history books. It's gotta be cool being Steve Gibson at a gathering like this knowing that all these people are together and having fun and being crazy and drinking and playing games and talking games and talking shit and having fun and that they are all together doing this because of you. One little website about Quake has grown into the greatest community anywhere. Wow, it's enough to make you teary eyed. I don't know if we ever got an official count but I'm guessing that there are at least 40 Shackers here...it could be as high as 50 or 60 though with everyone coming and going. Me and MrsWolf didn't even make it to half the fun stuff and still had a great time. For all those that didn't make it start saving up now. We already know next years Quakecon dates. Plan for it and make it. It's so fucking much fun.

Fun time at QC yesterday. Only (confirmed) Shacker sightings were briefly moseying through the BYOC area and recognizing lookitzpancakes from that iphone video and seeing Steve, Maarten, and Remo leaving the id tech demonstration... ran into a few people I know from the internets as well, good times.

ok been staying up late working on this video for a while. will have the full 50+ minute id Tech 5 technology walkthrough up on Fileshack in about an hour.

it's slightly better than DVD quality but full HD would have been over 2 gigs.

oh while i was it it i did a 1440x800 res update of the rage footage i'll put in there too. i fussed with the tools a bit and managed to get an even sharper picture.
