Hrm, I'm kinda liking this too...reminds me of the original hot pursuit.

I'll always like the hot pursuit gameplay though. I can do without all the street racing/ricer "DUDE I NEED NOS" stuff the series has had for the last 4 years.

Only racing game I've enjoyed in the past few years was Flatout. NFS and Test Drive all feels the same to me, it's more on-rails than anything else and the car handling is way too forgiving. I dunno, maybe I'm just a jaded racer.

While I have to agree that an artist took certain liberties with the spec on the road, I am digging the new graphic art style they are going for on the car and in game assets. It's refreshing change from defacto ricer style stuff they've had in the past. The cars all seem to have much more personality then previous outings. I've pretty much stopped playing this series at Underground, but perhaps this one might change my mind.

Looks o.k. but why show a boring straight stretch of road where all you notice is dirt for scenery and cars that act/look floaty over bumps? Weird. Maybe the game is good, but it was a bad choice for a trailer me thinks.

I think it looks fine. I'm not a huge racing guy but I've enjoyed hot pursuit and porche unleashed in addition to CMR04(I think it was 04). The asphalt is mighty shiny, but from the video it's all behind the car, so when you're focusing on your car and the road in front of you it shouldn't be that huge an issue. I'd try the demo if they put one out.
