I've finally played it and I enjoyed it.
But, serious question, would I be just as well off slash better off to just get a cheap used guitar and learn to play? I was in band in grade school and I miss making music, and GH2 is a nice balance between music and achievement points.
For anyone who does both, which do you prefer? I would assume you'd prefer the instrument on any given day or you'd just give it up, but the same could be said for the game.
I'm torn. :(

So our loss is your gain, I guess. We have stopped development on it, but I thought I'd share what we did with you guys. It started out as a free form world where we mixed platform movement with the idea that the whole city would be accessible to you. This concept was scorned by pretty much everyone we showed it to, so we narrowed the scope down to a regular platformer and focused the gameplay.
We had some pretty cool things planned for it like full co-op through out the game where you really have to work together to solve puzzles and enemies that require teamwork to bring down. We also had this awesome lobby system which was inside a game level where you hooked up with a friend to play the game.

We pretty much changed everything about the engine to create a platformer and we are kinda proud of what we accomplished even though it was turned down for funding.
We were aiming to create a Live Arcade title, so it plays best if you have a 360 controller hooked up to your PC. Otherwise you can use your mouse and keyboard but you will experience some broken / wacky stuff. (get the helper AI to follow you with left mousebutton and tell them to work with right mousebutton)

PCL5 and PCL6 Driver.. Whats this all about?
Usually, when downloading printer drivers on HP.com i find those two versions.

1) some user documents icons changed from the special 'my documents' icons to generic ones
2) sleep seems to work more reliably
3) when i resume from sleep i don't need to reset the network adapter to get good upload throughput!
4) the weirdness with folder views changing randomly (SEEMS to be fixed)
they fixed a bunch of other things, but this is just what i've noticed so far, and these were all my biggest vista gripes.

Anyway, Played is going to run a contest and give away 3 boxes of this stuff. I might put some of my stuff in there too, but I'm denying that I have to move and not doing anything, so I doubt it. Anyone care to offer some suggestions so I can pass them along? I think they've almost settled on "Caroline."
I have a 37w3 monitor and have my 360 connected to the VGA port for maximum awesome. The TV auto-adjusts every time it switches to VGA from any other input. Normally this is fine, but in certain situations, especially with dim images on the screen, it seems to throw off the color balance or something. Plus if it would auto-adjust while the 360 has the screen dimmed(as in the screen saver mode), the picture would be all bright and saturated when put back to normal. Another auto-adjust fixes it.
I can easily avoid this but I'd ideally like to just have it use the same settings all the time on that port. I have my other settings carefully adjusted and I hate to think that this thing is adjusting on its own. Fortunately, when it adjusts correctly it seems like it's always right on. If it's somehow off, it's quite obvious.

So the expansion to Neverwinter Nights 2 isn't really getting much press, but it's turning out really good. Today Atari released the marketing sheet for the expansion for NWN2 called Mask of the Betrayer:

There's alot of good information in the bullet points with some pretty bold claims, like mentioning something about Tormet, but I've been playing it off and on at work, and I'm really enjoying it. I think it should be out sometime in late September or early October.

I broke my old headphones, so I'm looking to pick up a new pair to use for running. Used with an iPod, mostly done on a treadmill so I don't need to hear street noise or anything to keep myself from getting killed. Something that stays put, sounds pretty good, and doesn't break from sweat. Any suggestions?

After confusing my friend and staring at the rear end a bit more, I concluded that yes, it was indeed a Ford GT40 or a close replica. Pulling up next to it confirmed my belief. It's a beautiful car, with a powerful throaty rumble from the engine. Pure sex on wheels.
