The reason that Jordan is probably better at writing male characters is likely due to his time spent at the Citadel (he\'s alumni)... As that is one of the male dominated bastions of the US, where they basically break you down and build you back up again, he probably has good insite into what makes men (males in general) work. Hence his ability to write good male characters. Do the same to women and he would likely write good female characters as well....

well AmWay tried with me to, but when you arrive to a new country and you don\'t have a job and you only communicate with ppl from the country you left thru the net well they don\'t have too much chance, my list of ppl they wrote together was 2 person long :), since then they didn\'t try, now I go to school and had several jobs, would have to beat them up to go away :)

and about books, nobody reads Forgotten Realms and Shadowrun books? Salvatore who wrote 9 books about Drizzt always comes up with something new and twisting, or maybe it\'s just me cause I like the first-person adventure stuff :)

For God\'s sake, he invented his own language for the books (other authors do that too nowadays, but not with the same comprehensiveness). The Silmarillion told in one book what Jordan hasn\'t done in eight. WOT is a good series, but Tolkien is in league all his own.
