A demo of Insomniac Games' upcoming Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3) and more content for the company's PlayStation 3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man are headed to the PlayStation Network.

"I can confirm that the demo [of Ratchet & Clank Future] will be downloadable via the PlayStation Store," said Insomniac Games marketing director Ryan Schneider in an interview with Shacknews. "What Sony chooses to do with it, and when, it really is in their hands. The [E3] demo is finished...and when it comes out, we have a rough idea, but you never know. I think the PlayStation Store is a fluid storefront, and anything can happen."

The director then revealed that additional content is on the way for Resistance: Fall of Man. "We actually have some content that hasn't been shared yet," he stated, "so I think our fans will be happy in the coming months in terms of ongoing support for Resistance."

"We're always working on enhanced functionality and new content," he added. The first Resistance map pack, which brought two new multiplayer maps to the game, arrived on the PlayStation 3's online PlayStation Store at the end of June for $7.99.

Schneider also noted that Ratchet & Clank Future will make use of the PlayStation Network, though he declined to offer specifics. "We will touch the PlayStation Network somehow with the Ratchet & Clank Future franchise," he teased, "and we'll be talking about that when the time comes. I can assure you though, it won't be something cheesy like nickel and dime weapons upgrades."

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.
