Which has diseappered from its previous position under the MGS4 article. Wait, thinking of it I can't see any other video on the front page; there used to be a Rayman video too right?
(Also the video do appear on the comment page it's kinda fucked up too, it displays incorrectly , although it can be fixed by refreshing. )
FYI I use Maxthon, latest version.

Having those effects as DX10-specific is the choice they, the developer, made themselves. To put it bluntly, DirectX as an API has shit to do with low-level implementations. Now, the reason we have been hearing so much about its advantages lately is simply that it's easier to bullet point and market to the masses as a single-feature rather than a set of graphical improvements.
That is not to say that there is anything wrong about studios riding on the Microsoft marketing train, it's a rational business decision if anything. I just wouldn't expect the big boys of the industry (id, Epic, Valve etc) to do the same, who more than often bypass the obvious and instead associate the advancements in their technology directly with advancements in hardware (CPU, GPU...).

Also, the game looks hot.
Now if only it was in a game I would actually want to play it would be even sweeter! :p
At least it's a sign of things to come for the next gen of games - the soft particles are just pure sex.

The request system and drop in/drop out rts multiplayer plus their matchmaking system are all totally awesome. The only thing I'm waiting for is clan automatches, which would just rock the world.
The game itself is relatively simple to play, the complexity emerges from the teamplay aspects, even a few players working together can inflict severe damage on a disorganized team.
I do wish they'd get rid of point pooling completely however, its fucking stupid.
