We'll have a technology overview and more info on what we're up to detailed on FileShack in the coming weeks but for now just try it out and see. It's called Prototype (360, PS3) and it's being made by Radical (they made Hulk Ultimate Destruction - which was crazy fun). It's a free roaming game that takes place in New York. There's been some sort of virus outbreak, and you play as some super-badass amnesiac that can do all kinds of crazy shit.
In a nut shell, it looks like what would happen if you mixed Hulk Ultimate Destruction, Crackdown, Messiah, and Assassin's Creed.
The guy you play as:
The prototype is an entity called Alex Mercer. [...] What sets Mercer apart is the disturbing ability to kill and absorb any other person he encounters. [...] As each new person becomes integrated so too do their memories, their abilities and their very appearance.
Two examples of this power include: kill and impersonate a high ranking military officer (get lower ranking soldiers to attack enemies for you, call in air strikes, etc.), kill a helicopter pilot and you suddenly know how to fly a helicopter. Also, the whole story progression seems to be related to this scheme, you know what your victims knew, etc.
Also, the whole movement system sounds like crazy fast parkour (like Assassin's Creed but with a superhuman character), and the combat looks super violent (people getting chopped to bits).
The graphics look about as good as GTA IV or Assassins Creed. I can't post scans, but there is this -> http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Story/200707/N07.0709.1006.14113.htm
Seriously, why can't they have show stuff like this at E3?
