Evening Reading
by Steve Gibson, Jul 19, 2007 3:59pm PDTYes, another new feature showing up in test form is the new download servers on FileShack with support for download managers and new locations. We'll have a technology overview and more info on what we're up to detailed on FileShack in the coming weeks but for now just try it out and see. If you don't have Mercury service, it's available to fuss with on the latest Civ IV Beyond the Sword Demo. So here is this stuff:
- Pricey space vacations :(
- Ultracold
- They solved checkers!
- Landing on Mars
Warning: PS3 firmware 4.45 crashing consoles
Dragon's Prophet preview: how to catch your dragon
Report: Respawn Entertainment co-founder left due to personal conflict
Oculus Rift secures $16 million in venture capital
Max Payne 3 slowly dives onto Mac this week
otherwise it takes forever to ask "What exactly does Open Borders accomplish when another leader asks to have them?" when I want the answer postehaste!
Note: I'd RTFM but I bought it over steam lol. $50 for both Civ4 and the pre-bought expansion, Beyond the Sword

it all just depends on how i want to play the game.... if im feeling lazy, ill just pick a 'jack of all trades' civ like the English or Chinese. With either of those 2 you can do just about anything decently and you wont fuck yourself over if you decide to change your strat mid game like say if i was to pick the Greek... with the greek, it's either culture or war, pick one and stick with it....switching mid way through is death.
but there is a definite heirachy with the civs and leaders, just that russia isnt near the top when there are a few other civs that id personally rather play as that have a little more 'oomph' to them, like the americans.
