2K Sports Serves Up Top Spin 3

Paris-based PAM Development will bring the third game in the Top Spin series to next-gen consoles this spring, publisher 2K Sports announced today. The game will arrive on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and will mark the first time a game in the series comes to a non-Microsoft console.

"This game transcends the boundaries of what has previously been achieved in the acclaimed Top Spin franchise by ensuring every detail is accurate, from the cloud cover to lighting, from sweat to dirt on clothing, to every drop shot, slice, lob and backhand," said 2K president Christoph Hartmann.

A detailed character customization mechanic will allow aesthetically inclined players to make a tennis pro of very specific aesthetics with tools for free-form body sculpting, makeup, and tattoos. Because tennis is about looking good.

I'm happy to see that development of this franchise is remaining with the developer who originated it.

With so many franchises being passed off to other developers (sometimes rightfully so), it's good to see faith in the developers who initially brought it to life.
