Virtua Fighter 5 To Have Online Play on Xbox 360

Sega's seminal fighting series goes online for the first time on Xbox 360.

In a first for the series, Sega's Virtua Fighter 5 on Xbox 360 will allow players to duke it out over Xbox Live when the game retails this fall.

No past Virtua Fighter titles have featured online play--including the version of Virtua Fighter 5 released earlier this year on the PlayStation 3.

The Xbox 360 release will include all the features of arcade version C, whereas the PlayStation 3 release was based on arcade version B. Differences in the two arcade versions are minor, being mostly tweaks and balances.

"Bringing Virtua Fighter 5 to the Xbox 360 will not only capture an entirely new audience, but will allow gamers to show their Virtua Fighter skills online against friends and foes," said marketing director Gary Knight of SEGA Europe.

Other differences from the PS3 version of the game include vibration support, an improved Quest mode with more options for character customization, and an updated DOJO mode with leaderboards and more training move settings. Players will also be able to use their custom characters on Xbox Live.

The game was originally slated for a summer release, but has been pushed to an undecided date this fall. Sega released these shots last month.

I can't wait to hear you whine about how much you hate the controller and how lag is affecting your game. Absolutely can't wait. Its a real shame there is no Ken Masters for you to whine about in this game. A real shame.

You can buy arcade sticks for the 360 also. Makes moves a lot easier to do.
