by Maarten Goldstein, Feb 21, 2000 2:51pm PSTSoFCenter has a short answer from Raven programmer Rick Johnson about the Soldier of Fortune demo patch. Rick says it should be this week. Of course, what we all really want, is the full version, which Raven is still hard at work on.

I get an instant lockup when I start the game. It was able to switch into the grey GL mode screen just once, but usually my mouse locks up right on the desktop. I\'ve even installed the new Win2k compatibility patch. I\'ve tried the official Nvidia reference Win2k drivers but they didnt solve the problem either. Instead my Q3A started crashing randomly so I went back to the 3.76 drivers. Any ideas on how to debug this ? It doesnt leave a log file and the readme doesn\'t give any parameters to start in safe mode or what not.
#18: My main development machine is W2K with a TNT2 card - been using W2K since Beta3 and haven\'t had any problems...
Great demo .. but DAMN... look at the violence level. LOL ...
(I almost hate to shoot the guys taking a wizz on the wall in the game btw.. hehe)
Its the _ONLY_ new game that locks up my system.
Running a cele300@450, TNT 3.76 drivers, SBLive and 128 megs RAM.

I never use it when I play cause I feel its too cheap (like throwing in street fighter2)
The sniper rifle sucks in multiplay though its impossible to hit anyone problably cause there are so few servers and all high ping for me
