Quake 4 Multiplayer Demo Released

Following the release of the 1.4.2 patch, a new Quake 4 multiplayer demo is now available. The demo uses the game code from that patch, and includes three levels. A Linux version is available as well.

    i hope people will give this a try. the multiplayer has come a long way since the game was released. /shill

      hmm, too bad there's no DM3 in there. DM9 would have been a far stronger re-make to show if that was of some importance.

        yeah i'm surprised they went with a remake in the demo. i'm not sure what maps i would have picked but i probably would not have chosen a remake.

        if theres a way to convert from Quake3, I remade DM3 for Quake3... Maybe someone can convert it to Quake4 ... if people want to play it... (that is if you are talking about Q2DM3 of course (the frag pipe) ;)

          q3 to q4 is super easy; q4radiant will load the q3 .map file - just make sure you strip out all your entities and such first, as anything other than raw brushwork has a tendency to cause crashes.

          Biggest thing to keep in mind is the player's a little taller in q4, so if there's any low clearance you might need to bump it up a little higher.

        yeah I was disappointed Q4 multiplayer never caught on. I like the occasional game of DM :D

      I think this is too late for me personally, with Quake Wars around the corner, I won't be spending my time on this.
