D3 Announces Dragon-Themed Wii Action Game
by Chris Faylor, Jun 21, 2007 2:38pm PDTPublisher D3Publisher of America and developer Land Ho! have announced Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire, a fantasy-themed third person action title coming exclusively to Wii this fall. The game is said to feature an intuitive two-handed control scheme that requires movements of both arms to fully control a dragon's arms, wings, tail, and fire-breathing capability. Detailing the journey of a warrior as he reconstructs the fabled Dragon Blade, which houses the essence and abilities of a dragon, Dragon Blade's story was penned by Dragonrealm series author Richard A. Knaak, who has also written several novels based on Blizzard's WarCraft and Diablo properties. All together, said journey will encompass over 20 environments spread across six different worlds. "Dragon Blade is one the few hack 'n slash games that will be available on the Wii this fall and the development team, Land Ho, has done a great job to fully utilize the Wii controls so players will experience parallel movement between themselves and the game avatar like never before," said D3PA executive vice president and COO Yoji Takenaka. "With its arcade style pick-up and play gameplay, we expect Dragon Blade to appeal to gamers of all ages." Along with the announcement, D3PA sent along three pieces of concept art.
