Developer Red Mile Entertainment has revealed details on its upcoming game based on the MTV film and television series Jackass. Published by MTV Games, Jackass the Game will allow players to carry out dangerous, Jackass-style stunts in a mission-based format across the PlayStation 2, PSP, and Nintendo DS platforms this fall.

Fans of the series can expect the gameplay emphasis to be placed squarely on ridiculous challenges and painful wipe-outs. Over 35 scenarios will see players attempting to cause as much damage to their characters as possible, with an in-game injury system awarding more points for broken bones and internal injuries. Ragdoll modeling and dynamic physics will ensure a realistic representation of Jackass stars as they careen down busy streets inside garbage cans.

Head-to-head multiplayer modes will apparently be included with some versions of the game. In addition, the PSP version will feature a replay engine, allowing players to save and edit clips of memorable moments. These clips can then be shared with other PSP owners using the system's wireless capability.

"For years on Jackass, we stressed 'do not try the stunts we do at home'," said Jackass star Johnny Knoxville. "But with our new Jackass video game, you can now try our stunts at home... but only while playing the video game--you little juvenile delinquents!"

Red Mile sent along some screenshots of the PS2 version.

Seems a bit late to be making this game.

Wow, lets see if the ESRB goes out of it's way to make this an AO title.

I'd say this is far more damaging to any youth's psyche than Manhunt 2...

Besides, why play the game, when you can just watch youtube/break?
