On Unreal Tournament 3 Specs & Performance

There's a thread on the Epic Games forums, where a German article from PC Games Hardware about the technical features of Unreal Engine 3 has been translated. Included is a Q&A with Tim Sweeney about support for things like SLI/Crossfire, DirectX 10 and Vista 64. Thanks Vooodo Extreme.

too bad it's still a 32bit software world, Vista 64 isn't aimed at gaming. If it speeds up editing stuff in the game (building levels) then that would be cool.

Why is that bad? Software that doesn't need 4GBs+ of memory does not need to be 64bit, as 64bit windows runs 32bit windows apps without emulation (i.e. at full 32bit speed), and it's ready for 64-bit software that does need 4GBs+ of memory.

FYI, the whole 4+ Gigs of ram is only a small part of 64bit processing...I really don't feel like explaining the whole thing right now, but there are plenty of places online you can look to find out more. So either look it up or wait for someone who does have the time to explain it.

I don't know, the bottleneck for games hasn't been the CPU for a while, except for SupCom, so unless it needs tons and tons of ram 64-bit mode won't matter when 32-bit mode is fast enough.
