When watching comparison movies between the game running at either directx9 or directx10 - there is a huge difference. I didn't think it would matter that much.

Ug. It was just a big long commercial for Vista and Dual/Quad core Intels.

They keep talking about quad core like anyone has it. According to the Steam survey less than 1% of gamers have them.
