About 3 nights ago, I was on the PC for about 8 or 9 hours straight moderating a support forum that had exploded into a bunch of spamming, rule breaking etc. The next morning I woke up with a really strange localized pain in my upper left calf muscle. I tried to shrug it off, but it stayed there over the next few days.
Last night at about 1AM the pain intensified and I felt the pain moving up my leg. I freaked and sped down to the emergency room. They ran an ultrasound and I had a small blood clot in my main leg vein, which had it not become lodged again could have traveled lungs and become a pulmonary embolism, which is nearly always fatal within minutes because it cuts off your oxygen supply inside the lungs.
This was caused by the years of sitting at my desk all day on the computer with little physical activity. I am not in bad shape, I'm 25 years old, about 5'8" and slightly overweight for my body type - around 160 or so. I just don't exercise enough or eat very well.
Gonna have to make some serious changes to my habits to prevent this from happening again - you have a much increased risk of further clots once it's happened once. I just want to warn everyone who works on a computer all day, which I know is a lot of us here, that you really really need to get up and move around every hour, drink lots of water, don't eat all fast food etc. Don't want to see this happen to anyone else because of the Internet "lifestyle" some of us go by...

What is your highest score on a single song ? mine are all on Hard, only monkey wrench on expert comes close to 305k, but my highest score is on monkeywrench Hard, 329 818, followed by killing in the name witrh 324 379 and then beast and harlot, with 317 011.... what are yours ?

I just reread all the comments, and there's something that I don't believe people have discussed.
In the Pilot, Jack and Kate are not on the beach in the beginning. At least, I know Jack isn't, and I'm pretty sure that Kate stumbled out of the jungle as well (can somebody with the DVD's verify this?). That's bothered me for a long time -- why did they both stumble out of the jungle when everybody else was on the beach?
Seems like neither a flashback nor a flashforward works. If it was a flashforward, why did Jack refer to his dad? That wasn't some metaphorical statement -- he believed his dad was upstairs. And why wasn't Kate in prison? If it was a flashback, and Jack and Kate were already on the island years ago, then how come they don't remember it?

Tried to play Halo 3 beta and it locked up and the red rings of death appeared. Called xbox service and my warranty expired in Jan. $150 for repairs...any suggestions or should just take the hit? I guess I am pretty lucky my 360 lasted this long.

You know what, I am having more fun with Halo 2 on the PC than I thought I would! I dunno, i find it really fun and talking to people who are playing it it seems to be a 50/50 ratio on who uses controllers and who uses the Keyboard/Mouse combo. Really interesting to see that that is also how most the games end up....sometimes the keyboard users win (by a very small margin) and sometimes the controller using people win (some by big margins). As well I found myself really having fun with the keyboard and mouse combo, but for a bit I decided to pick up and play with the controller and found that as soon as I messed with the controller (in the middle of the game) some sort of auto aiming assist kicked in.
Well anyways, I got some achievements as you can see in my profile. With this I am honestly really excited about Shadowrun next week and excited about the whole 360 vs. PC players in the future.
And the game ran excellent on my system, no problems, no stutter....I was very happy with it and hope to see the 2 other people out there in shackland maybe picking it up.

I was watching a documentary on the life and times of "Blackbeard". He used to wear canon fuses tangled in his hair and lite them on fire when he came broadside with an enemy ship (for the effect of making him look even scarier).
Must haves for a new pirate game:

The Orajel stuff works for about 30 minutes and then she starts crying again. My (not even) 6mo old daughter has slept through the night since Christmas. I guess I was spoiled not having to stay up with a crying baby. Holy shit.

looks like 92.3 freefm (formerly krock) is done with their talk style and going back to their old playing music all the time style. i have no idea what's going on with the radio station right now, it's showing a countdown on the website http://www.923freefm.com and on the actual station they're playing all strange sound clips (i just heard one from the original halo).
i guess after firing jv and elvis, and probably being about to fire opie and anthony (the two shows which gave them any ratings) from all the pressure they decided the terrible ratings weren't worth it.

My computer is continuously rebooting. It will get to the Windows XP logo screen with the fake little blue scrollie and then reboot. I have tried safe mode and "last known good configuration." I've tried moving memory around, reseating the vid card, vacuuming everything out and cleaning the dust out of the fans as much as possible to no avail.
Anyone want to venture a guess? Tanks.

He would constantly text message me saying things like "oh this game is coming out this will be the answer to this game from ps3" ; "omg sales on this game did better than this game" "xbox elite is still cheaper than ps3" " oh no not a good sign the creator of ps resigned"blu-ray sucks we dont need it" "oh no they removed the 20gb ps3 off the market, that is a bad sign" the list goes on and on. I still remember the time when He said that HD-dvd is going to own blu-ray.... but now he says it is not needed for hd video format.
I dont text message back on these things to esculate this situation but it is quite annoying.
he did this long before I got my ps3, and I did not even give a clue that I was getting one until the day I invited him over to see a blu-ray movie.
My theory is this, he owned a dreamcast and he is very very disgruntled boy because sony gave to final blow to sega to get out of the hardware industry.

Also, I saw that GH is releasing on multiple platforms. Is the game pretty much going to be the same on each platform, but with different guitars? I wouldn't mind picking it up on my Wii, but I already have 2 controllers for my ps2. This will prob piss me off if there is different content on each platform to force you to buy the game for each platform.
