First Post!

Still haven't seen Spider-Man 3, but I will make an effort to hit a theater for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End tomorrow. That series is just a lot of fun.

At Worlds End comes out tomorrow?! God damn. Feels like only yesterday I was watching Dead Mans Chest at the cinema.

I watched it on my cable On Demand thingy a couple of nights ago, I actually quite enjoyed it. I expected the sequel suckage level to be quite a lot higher than it was.

I may actually get off my ass and go to see the 3rd one at the theatre. Loved the 1st one

I really enjoyed the 2nd one.. saw it three times but was drunk on each occasion (Gold seats and bottles of wine at the cinema FTW!)

Haven't read any spoilers or anything about the 3rd one so hoping to be pleasantly surprised!

          Depp's character is unforgettable, really.

Even if the rest of the film is horrid, it's worth it just for some wonderful Jack Sparrow moments. I liked the fact that we seem to get "normal" Bill Turner back in the 3rd one now , the cursed version of Geoffrey Rush's character in the 2nd one really left something missing that I'm hoping will be replaced in the 3rd

Yeah, Depp owns that film. You can tell he's having a blast filming it. Here's hoping for a good end to the trilogy!

I finally managed to watch Dead Man's Chest a few weeks back. I had been trying to watch it over the course of a six months, but I kept falling asleep during it. Luckily, I had a load of caffeine, and managed to make it through this time around.

It wasn't bad, but the pacing was absolutely terrible.

Depends on what you want out of it! Except for one or two pacing issues I think it's a fantastic kids swashbuckling movie. Some of the action scenes really did leave me with a huge grin on my face.

A lot if reminded me of Monkey Island -- IE, .the voodoo lady, the cannibalistic island, and the undead pirates.

Yea, seriously it was great. Like how often do we even get anything pirate-related in terms of movies or games these days?

Yeah, it was a fun film, but I didn't like the cliffhanger ending. So watch it now, and the only thing I thought was wrong won't be a problem.

I didn't think it was great, but I was half asleep - saw 1&2 last weekend. Probably still worth watching it and seeing 3, but don't get too excited. 1 was awesome, of course.

It was ok. Suffered pretty badly from middle movie syndrome.

IIJM? I remember seeing the first 'Pirates' in a small theatre the first week it came out, and IIJM or was it not expected to be the huge blockbuster that it became?

In a nutshell, the super huge movies play in Theatre 3 in my city, but I saw it in Theatre 1: a newer theatre room with nicer seats etc. but it's 1/3 the size of the bigger theatres.

Did the first 'Pirates' get a lot of marketing push? I don't remember. I don't remember anyone really talking about it, until maybe 2-3 weeks after it came out, and then over the summer it seemed to get very popular.
