I've fussed a little more with this AT&T UVerse stuff today and I'm really pretty sure that once they get the image quality improved as planned I'm sold as a customer. I'll miss you TiVo :( I want you girls to look at these and think really hard.

Lastly, 20-somethings are jerks. Oh and Stern and Jackson are goons for how they handled the Suns/Spurs penalties.

Its alright. Felt like Halo2 in multiplayer. Graphics looked slightly better but nothing that would have been impossible in Halo 2.

I was just looking at a graphics comparison article on Gamespot, I was really underwhelmed. In fact I didn't know which pictures were from Halo 2 and which were from Halo 3 until I read the text... I know it's not all about the graphics but I was hoping to be blown away. Perhaps it's just the beta though!

I wasn't impressed either. I wasn't expecting OMG graphics but I expected to be able to tell whether I was playing Halo 2 or Halo 3.

Bungie seems to rely on normal mapping and bump mapping way too much. Poly counts seem low and the mappring is making up for that. Too bad since the 360 has so much more potential. Please save the "its the online mode" part of the argument, please see Gears for that topic.

I'm going to tough it out till it's available to us Crackdown people. Then I'll choose whether or not to call in sick tomorrow.

I have far, far too much work to do to pull that. As it is, I'll likely have to work late tomorrow if I don't want to have to stay late on Friday.

I was playing last night and it was fun to have had at least a few days of experience and know all the maps and weapons better than most people. That's not going to last very long. :(

I really like it a lot, think I'm going to enjoy it more than Halo 2 online for sure, which I didn't think was as good a Halo 1's multiplayer.

I love that there's a lot less reliance on dual wielding--this puts grenades back in the spotlight where they should be.

The new deployables are great. Being able to launch vehicles from portable launch pads is really fun.

I'm glad to see even more emphasis on non-symmetry in maps and gametypes too. I love objective-based games way more than deathmatch, and Halo multiplayer is great for that.

Netcode is much improved, or at least it seems that way right now.

There doesn't seem to be a sword in multiplayer. I hope it stays that way. Anyone know if it's planned for the full game?

      Was watching this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrX_uNzxSBM
and I know it's beta and they'll fix the glitches eventually but what I don't like the most (and doesn't even seem to be a bug) is the buddy boosting.

It breaks maps and causes all kinds of problems. Took Valve a while to figure that out, but they finally fixed CS and removed it. Now CS is a much better game without the idiots shooting at you from rooftops they shouldn't be able to get to.

I missed out for the most part on Halo 2 mp so I don't know how boosting was handled there, but i plan to be there for Halo 3. I hope that shit gets taken care of.

damn I used to love boosting in CS. Not so much in pub play, but it did make for some interesting strats in competitive play. On that topic, I really hate how you can't shoot through certain walls anymore of get up on top of things like at bomb site A in dust 2.

      Tried it, was underwhelmed.

Mind you, I didn't expect much new from the game (you don't go changing the basic formula on the 3rd game in a series), and I'm sure that the beta limits what they can show you that may be flashy new, but after playing a lot of Gears of War where standard deathmatch type approaches just don't work, I was looking for more strategic elements to the game, or at least more such modes for teams.

Matchmaking seemed overly slow, couldn't join games was invited too, but that could simply be beta status or MS ironing all the problems this had for first day.

It certainly is much better than Lost Planet's MP, maps feel the right size and action moves much faster.

But end of the day, I see nothing that makes me feel the need to stay home and spend tons of hours playing this demo in the next 3 weeks; I'm looking forward to the game, but I just don't understand the massive drooling fanboys (not so much here, just across gaming sites in general) that have to play this game so much that they get overly upset that the demo isn't available the minute it was promised.

As much as I dont like it, and dont like the gameplay of Halo in general, I do enjoy the excellent job Bungie does with multiplayer options. I look forward to sucking it up all weekend , but at the same time I cant help but wish other games which I find way more enjoyable had the same amount of polish in the multiplayer department.

Few things I hate about Halo:

Fast, strafing, bouncing, spraying - Seems like everyone just runs around circling and spraying and bouncing. Obviously with more skill that might not be the same but last night it seemed like everyone was doing that. Theres really no sense of tension because of this. Its probably my fault because of playing Counter-Strike matches for so long. I miss that feeling of waiting for enemies to come through a doorway and surprising them. I feel like with Halo is just non-stop action with little chance to really plot things out.

Being unable to tell who my teammates are. Friend of mine told me you can see your initials over each others heads. I didnt notice that at all last night though. All of the models look identical except for some pretty cheesey looking color changes to the armor.

Not being able to hear my own team on the mic. I dont want to hear enemies... I dont want to hear who is near me.. I want to be able to talk to my team to coordinate better at all times. For some reason half the time the voices would come through my speakers too instead of the headset.

Rest of my gripes are from me being a noob --- like not knowing what the fuck the weapons do.

Anyway, Im not knocking the game, saying it sucks or anything like that. Obviously its a great game that many, many people love. It just not my cup of tea, and it sucks that the biggest online console game isn't a game I really love. Will definetly keep trying all weekend though. I just can't help but feel like Microsoft fucked Gears of War by not allowing them to do the ranked matchmaking so that Halo stays on top.
