S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 1.0003 Patch Released

THQ has issued the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 1.0003 patch, updating US and European releases of the game. There are patches to update the original game, as well as 1.0001 release (if you have that one installed your save games will be preserved). The 1.0003 release offers more bug and crash fixes, plus the 16:9 aspect ratio now works correctly.

I got some bad news:

My last saved game doesn't work when I installed the patch. I did the update patch from 1.001 to 1.003 and everything. But it hangs on Client: Synch. :~(

Okay, I have vanilla Stalker installed. Does Maarten mean that one as in 1.0001, or vanilla? I want to patch since there's a possibility of fixing some bugs, but I don't want to fuck up my save files :(

Honest question.

Is this the patch that makes the game fun?

The notes don't mention anything about accuracy rates on weapons, so I'm thinking it's not. :/

I too love this game! You suckahs should go out and buy it to support these talented Russkies! I hope they build on this franchise, but I haven't finished the game yet, so I dunno if a sequal is even in their plans.
