Bethesda Announces Liam Neeson As Voice Actor In Fallout 3

Please don't blow your entire budget on Liam Neeson, advertise the hell out of having a celebrity voice actor, and then have his character die after the first two minutes of phoned-in dialogue.

Sometimes I feel big name actors actually detract from the game. It's like donkey in Shrek. I didn't think he was a character, I just thought he was Eddie Murphy. I know that it's all the rage to book big actors, but I don't think it's always a good thing.

FUCK YEAH!!! East Coast!! Finally.

What about Ron Pearlman? Come on. He's like a staple of the series.

I figure Bethesda needed a well known IP to monetize their technology investment, so I'm expecting Oblivion in the world of Fallout.

Voice actors apart, this is looking very interesting.

Would it be possible for them to bundle fallout 1&2 with this? I never played them. Who owns the copyright on the first two?

Who cares, just make a good game.

I'm not sure I get the people who worry about Bethesda pulling off a post-apoc. style game. Remember Future Shock? That shit had awesome atmosphere and impressive size for a game that size in the day. If they could pull off that atmosphere again in modern day engine, I'd be happy. Campy or not.

However, notice I didn't say the travesty "sequel" which was Skynet, and it's full retail cost for 6 actual levels of game play.

Too bad everything Bethesda touches besides Elder Scrolls turns into crap *cough star trek*. Im really hoping for a solid Fallout game. Pleeeaase.

I've never played any of the Fallout games, but I love the impending doom this picture conveys. It looks like something straight outta Gamma World.

Neeson will play the role of the player’s father and will appear prominently throughout the game. Fallout 3 is currently under development at Bethesda Game Studios, creators of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion®, which won numerous Game of the Year and RPG of the Year awards in 2006.

No other details on Fallout 3 have yet been revealed by Bethesda. More information will be coming in the next few months.

The art for this game is looking very promising. I really hope they can recreate it with nearly as much grit and detail.

I suck at names and such, but... like... why is this good news? I'm not saying it isn't or anything, the name just doesn't ring a bell and his imdb page tells me little (since it's so tl;dr)?

God I love the concept art. I didn't play much Fallout before but I agree with the fanboys that I hope, against the odds, they at least nail the humour and freedom.

thats pretty awesome. but it will probably be the same as patrick steward in oblivion. a small role with a couple of lines even though its said "appearing throughout the game".
