  • EA creates Playground on Wii, DS

    [wii] [ds]

EA has revealed the first details of an upcoming mini-game collection developed by EA Canada for the Wii and DS, currently known as EA Playground. According to an IGN interview with executive producer Dave McCarthy, the simplistic mini-games--meant to recreate popular playground activities--are designed around each console's capabilities, with the Wii Remote's lending itself to gesture-based games like Dodge Ball and Tetherball. Meanwhile, Bug Hunt uses the DS' touch screen and Spit Balls utilizes the portable's built-in microphone. McCarthy also mentioned an RC car racing mini-game to be included in the Wii version.

IGN lists EA Playground for a Q3 2007. More details, including an official announcement of the game, are expected shortly.

Whatever the reason for needing so much hardware, if you could get 4 friends together; you were in for some wonderful multiplayer. The soundtrack alone was enough to keep me playing solo." Purchased and played thru one single player game of Catan, and have to say it's a lot of fun, never played the board game, so this was definitely a new experience for me. A++ recommendation!
