Here you go Shack; this is one of the oddest things I have ever recorded.

A few years ago, in a rather strange state of mind a buddy and I conceived a cover version of Men Without Hats' hit Safety Dance. I hesitate to call it a "cover" because it really only retains the lyrics and one particular two-note pattern. For some reason, at the time, we thought it hilarious to turn it into some kind of pseudo-power-ballad thing. I have no idea if that hilarity will come through, but for some reason tonight I had the urge to record this bizarre creation for the first time ever. My buddy's not on this, it's just me.

Assuming personal safety weren't a factor, if you had to pick one historical event to go back and witness personally, what would it be?

I'd go with something far, far back in antiquity, something of which records and testimonies were sparse, contradictory, or nonexistent. Perhaps the trial and death of Socrates, one of Caesar's confrontations with Cato, or the Big Bang.

Sure, the Xbox 360 can be righteous and cool with hard-core gamers, but this is not a sufficiently large user base to recoup the magnitude of investment Microsoft has made in its gaming platform. So if this is the strategy, they've got a problem. And if their strategy is really more mass-market, then they've got some serious re-positioning to do relative to the Nintendo's (NTDOY.PK) Wii, which is both cheaper and more accessible to Ma and Pa and Timmy and Tammy gamer. In short, I am at a loss. Correct that: Microsoft is at a loss. $5.4 billion and counting.

Talks about Microsoft's business strategy with the Xbox 360 and how it's been a "financial black hole" for Microsoft and it's investors, being about 5.4 billion in operating losses for the past several years. Also talks about why Japan is an important market.

The comments at the bottom of the article are pretty interesting, too.

another photoshop question. i take it there isnt a keyboard shortcut for changing opacity on brushes. theres one for hardness and one for size, but nothing for opacity?

on a related note, is there an alternative to photoshop worth checking out?

The last few episodes of Lost have been pretty amazing. Desmonds back story last night was pretty cool - But that one chick tying the knot at the end of lastweeks episode was probably one of the greatest endings of a tv episode I have ever seen.

I just had my frist Points Victory in Civ iv and i actually managed to kill off one of the AIs militarily.

The Greeks were dominant through much of the game (me) but trailed bismark up until the last 97 turns when i blew past him. I conquered the US and captured Washington. Overall it was a very satisfying game and just what i needed.

Dammit.

Trying to run the Ubuntu (edgy) live-cd, and I get

/sbin/init: Can't access tty; Job control turned off

when booting from the DVD. I did a little looking around, but dammit... I cannot edit the GRUB (I don't think, anyway, I don't even know where it is!) on the DVD. This used to work, I've booted to it on an older system, also running Vista.

I've 2 SATA drives, and a 160GB IDE one. Ideally, I'd like to install Ubuntu onto the IDE and dual-boot. I haven't found a really easy how-to yet, though, with this issue popping up as well.

I don't need it 'Linux for Dummies.' I need 'Linux for Retards.'

Po-lice update

I passed my qualification shoot! Thnx, Video Games!
I passed my first two exams!

Remember last week how I almost shot a guy in a simulation and ended up popping out my shoulder? I do that class again in one hour! :(

By Monday afternoon all my exams and assessments will be over. Next Friday we're dismissed from the College, have a week off, and then come back for a week of Drill practice.

TLDR: I'm almost a cop. Ask me again in a week or so.

Recently my site has been flooded with (FUCKING ANNOYING) bots that sign up on my forum and link to various porn sites. Some days it's 10 others it's 2-3, and it's pissing me the hell off. Is there a free code one can use where new registrants have to enter a code from an image or something? I can't code for shit and my regular coder is busy, so it would be cool if I could get my hands on something I just have to insert somewhere.

What is the point of these bots signing up anyway? It's not like they post on the site or anything... Fucking russian cocksuckers!!!! Ahh, that helped :|
