Tech Report reports on the latest AMD CPU price cuts, which has almost all Athlon 64 X2 chips (the exception being the 6000+) under $200 now. There are also hefty cuts for the Athlon 64 FX-74 ($799 from $999) and FX-72 ($599 from $799).

He he he...the Core Duo release from Intel has thrown AMD to the old Athlon Thunderbird times. IF you can't beat them with performance..beat them with price.

I for once just bought a A64 4000+ at 80.00 bucks at Ebay to do a upgrade to my PC. I know Core Duos dominate the gaming benchmarks but for the cheap bastards like me AMD is a great choice thanks to its great processors + great motherboards (decent Core Duo boards are just too expensive).
