Purge Released For Free

To those not in the know, those who didn't watch shack and bluesnews come into the world out of Quake, this was originally a mod for Quake called Future vs. Fantasy, which was an excellent class based mod. Purge isnt an exact port, but they are extremely similar games.

I used to email back and forth with Hap(lead dev) back when I was 14 years old..........ah those were the days.

I was in the beta for this game... and it was pretty damn awful back then. It's cool they released it for free though!

yikes...I remember this game from quite some time ago...played the trial version for a bit, but ended up quitting because I didn't feel it was worth the money for the full version, and at the time I was into the "free game" type view...aka free mmorpg's like planeshift for example...I'm talking about legitimately free games, not pirated games for those who may misread this.

Anyways, I completely support genre hybrids...a very nice, refreshing change in gameplay...I currently have Savage 2: A Tortured Soul preordered(since March 2006), and still feel that the wait will be worth it...from the sound of it, the beta will start within a few weeks or less, but if it doesn't, then I'll still wait patiently...it's a FPS/RTS/RPG hybrid btw...how about calling it FRR for short...First Realtime roleplaying game? :P scratch that.

Keep in mind though...you'll never know if you like a game unless you give it an honest, non-BS try...don't convince yourself one way or the other until AFTER the trial :)
