I am looking to get my folks a decent TV.
1. It does not have to be uber fancy, just something that looks nicer than their old TV.
2. They would want to put it in a cabinet, so it really can not be that big. The TV they have right now is around 40 inches diagonal (not widescreen).
Any suggestions? Leaning toward an LCD or a tube HDTV.

Cast Iron Myth: never use soap on cast iron
If restaurants never washed their utensils, they would be cited for health violations and shut down. I wash my pans after every meal I cook, and after every round of seasoning. It's no big deal.
Cast Iron day-to-day care
As I mentioned earlier, you should wash your cast iron pan with hot soapy water after a meal. Rinse thoroughly, dry with a towel, and then set on a medium burner in order to dry off any small drops of water left. Once it's warm, take a paper towel and put some vegetable shortening on it (eg. Crisco). Wipe down the interior and exterior with shortening and put away.
Seasoning
You'll want to scrape the cooking surface flat if you can help it. A nice metal spatula works well for this, and even better is a bench scraper (bread making tool.. you probably don't have one. it's a super wide metal scraper). Once that's done, if you haven't been keeping your pan clean till now, treat it as if you'd just made food as above.
You don't want excess shortening on the pan or else you'll end up with gummy grease that you'll have to scrape + wash off. Many thin layers of cooked shortening is what you want to build here.
Put the pan into your oven, upside down, with a cookie sheet underneath so that it catches any drippings.
Turn the oven to 400F and leave your pan in for a bit over an hour, and then turn the oven off and leave the pan to cool to room temperature in the oven (could take up to 3 hours). This WILL cause some smoking so be prepared to turn on your fume hood.
Once you take the pan out, give it a quick scraping to remove whatever gummy residue exists, and then wash with hot soapy water (you can scrub with plastic scrubbers). Finally, heat and coat once again with shortening.
Cooking with cast iron
For 99% of the cooking you do, you will want to heat the pan over medium heat for 5-10 minutes till you feel a good deal of heat when you hold your hand 2-3 inches above the pan. another good test is to splash water drops onto the pan.. they should dance for a few seconds before they evaporate.
Oh, and if you have a cast iron pot with a lid, always put a rolled paper towel between the pot and lid to keep it cracked open so that air flow exists and so that you don't get condensation which could rust the pan.

Fans discovered that Stalker was using textures taken from Half-Life 2 and Doom 3. This does not bode well.

so I bought a DS just for puzzle quest last week, and it was totally worth it. but I have since finished it, and need additional stuffs to play. I do not like racing games nor sports games, I like rpgs, puzzle stuffs, and anything approaching puzzle quest.
I've been looking at the DS castlevania games, as well as rocket slime.
DS game suggestions?

I'm trying to make a simple web page that has 3 sections: a header, the content and a footer. The footer needs to be flush against the bottom of the page and the content should span to fill everything between the header and footer (so if you resize the page the content section should resize as well).
Is there an easy way to do this with css + divs? I'm don't know how to keep a div flush against the bottom of the page (or how to make the content div's height variable).

Yes, I know the DS has better games, more popular, etc...
What is some really cool stuff you can do with a PSP besides games? I know there's a pretty big modding community.

100% Pure Whey has been a staple of mine for years.
Pro Complex is perhaps the best protein I've ever used.
So when I bought your "Complete Protein Diet" powder because I wanted a Casein + Egg + Whey combo, I had faith that my $45 was a good investment.
It's horrible. Doesn't mix worth a damn and comes out pasty thick. Looks like I'll be buying some Pro Complex tomorrow so I have protein and taking this to work or something to use in my morning oatmeal :(

Ok godaddy did something really crappy to me within the last couple weeks. I tried to buy a new domain and got the confirmation email that it was successful. Spiffy, not long after that I get another email with the subject line "Cancellation Confirmation", I open it up and says that I cancelled my order. Me. "I" cancelled it. No wait, the hell I did.
So I call them up and they're like, "Oh well there's some sort of hold on your account but I can't access it further to tell you why, let me escalate this and you will be contacted back within 48 hours". Ok cool, a week goes by and I'm thinking I should just use another card and re-order the domain since these guys haven't responded back. But no, someone bought it out from under me. This is a domain that was thought up over 3 years ago but never bought. I try to buy it now, get denied, and someone comes along and buys it behind my back.
So I call godaddy and again they give me the same BS. I have decided to hassle them everyday until they tell me what the fuck the holdup was. Now I have to think of a new domain name for the site I wanted to make. I think I might go purchase it from somewhere else. This experience with godaddy has left a bad taste in my mouth.

1. Philadelphia
2. (forgot, because of no. 3)
3. New York City
I can't find an actual news article - I heard it on CNN Headline news this morning. I think 2 was Chicago, but I'm certain it wasn't the likely suspect of Los Angeles.
If someone can find me an actual statistic to back me up, all my searches turn up is mostly stuff from 2006. Looking at the FBI's site (www.fbi.gov) they've got a whole plethora of stats. Fun read for those stuck in boring places (though it's really nice here in Portland today)
Either way... NYC --safest city my ass!
GO ROCKSTAR!!
ps overall crime was lower in NYC in 2006, but they had more murders than the previous year (or they just didn't have as much luck with those goblin jumper cables as they did the year before).
