The demo didnt really feel like anything particularly new but I think I'm most looking forward to the live actors and their hokey lines. I want you guys to seriously consider these tonight:

Before I went to the gym tonight, I grabbed a shirt to put on after I got out of the shower. I just grabbed a gray shirt off the hanger and away I went. I put it on tonight and came home and did stuff and never even realized which shirt I was wearing.
Well, the wife comes home and she walks up and doesn't say anything and reaches for the tag. I am all wtf? and she says "You are wearing an XL"One of the last shirts I bought in December was a 3XL. Almost everything I have worn in the last 6 years has been a 2XL. This XL isn't even tight on me. Granted, the shirt is 3 years old and probably expanded to more like 1.5-1.75XL... but still. I'm wearing a 2004 Quakecon XL tshirt!!

This lead to trying to figure out which known/famous actress should be playing that part instead. We arrived at only two good solutions:

2. Claire Danes

Drive into a ped. The impact of them on your car dent's the bonnet but sends them flying into a wooden fence which splinters. The collision throws you off course and you fly into a brick wall which collapses and bricks fall onto your car. The engine catches fire and as you scrabble to get away, the petrol tank blows up and sends you and some peds flying over a nearby ledge into a river but one of the peds manages to grab on to the edge before they fall off.

I decided to get rid of the gunk on the stock HSF for my CPU, and replace it with a freshly bought tube of Arctic Silver stuff, since Ghost Hacker was nice enough to let me use some of his last year, and it seemed to work real well. Um, I used very little of the stuff, and my CPU temps are like.. through the roof. http://carrion_luggage.shackspace.com/hotstuff.jpg This was after a 5-minute session of Company of Heroes. WTF?
I made doubly sure that this fan assembly with the 4 clips are indeed fastened securely. I also made sure I didn't use too much goop.
My question is, even though there was just 3 strips/stripes of the compound on the heatsink base when I put it on initially, and I pretty much made sure the entire heatspreader on the CPU was covered. Should I clean it off, and reapply?

So I went to this. It was pretty swank. The crowd was basically batshit insane and screaming at everything even remotely cool or anything which was an Austin/Texas reference. It was pretty hillarious and fun.
As for the movies themselves, Planet Terror, I absolutely loved. It was totally insane and did the whole Grindhouse thing really well. It even had a rocket jump. No, really. I'm serious. It did.
Death Proof on the other hand I did not really like, especially since it was part of Grindhouse. Frankly it was way too much of a normal Tarantino film, and the whole Grindhouse aspect was not even that big of a deal. Occassionally it would do a couple filters, but for the most part it was rather boring. It even had the obligatory Tarantino-style 20 minute long conversation in a diner. Overall it was super dialogue heavy, and not all that much happened. If it was on its own, maybe it would be fine, but after watch the hillarious insanity that was Planet Terror, it was pretty bland.
Also, all of the trailers they made to go in between the movies are pure awesomeness.

I'm playing this on the PC (1.2) and I'm currently trying to complete the Join the Mages Guild quest. I'm pretty sure I've secured all the recommendations except for one where I have to get the Fingers of the Mountain book and give it to the lizard guy. The problem is, I got the book and gave it to him instead of the lady that wanted it and he took it from me... but I never received my recommendation. My little indicator at the bottom of the screen still shows a green indicator for him even after he has the book... there's still no mention of the completed Mages Guild quest. When I go back to talk to the lizard guy, all the text options are greyed out and he never mentions anything helpful again.
Help me obi-Shack. You're my only hope!

Apparently they're filming some historical documentary for the History Channel on Michael McGivney, the founder of the Knights of Columbus and they need some background extras/parishioners.
Of course I'm a bit skeptical, but he had a clipboard and a shooting schedule and there were quite a few trailers set up on the lawn and it all looked very official.
I'm going to head over after I'm done with class for the day.

I thought the AI in this game was supposed to be good (good like from fear). I took on the first mission: opted to go it alone, and found the 5 or so enemies overwhelming me - so I backed off, and circled around 90 degrees to them, came over the hill and picked them off one by one. They didn't try to take cover or anything, they just stood there in the middle of an empty field shooting at me with shotguns
Also - what are those weird pulses that happen and end up hurting me like hell if I walk through them? Are these the anomalies everyone is speaking of - and why does the instruction manual say that some will heal you?

What the fuck is this shit? I'm trying to work out when Summer is in the UK - because the black 360 is 'late summer' in the UK
It says summer starts on the 21'st of June? what's this 21'st bullshit?
It's all just by month here (AUS) Dec, Jan, Feb = Summer, March April May = Autumn etc?
Anyhow - assuming that 21'st thing is right (wtf?) then X360 in UK, late 'summer' = as late as 21'st September - hot jesus, may as well wait for 65nm
I sincerely doubt Australia will get it before the UK, despite us apparently being 'winter' which in Aus = June 01 -> August 31'st

TLDR: Union agrees to deal with the retailers' umbrella organisation, but the umbrella organisation of which the retailers' organisation is part refuses the deal as it's too generous, leading to a threatened strike for easter.
I love it when business organisations fight.
I have recently discovered that I can connect a wiimote to my computer using bluetooth, so I rigged up a quick program to record the motions, and if the user performs certain actions (a quick hit with the downwards with the wiimote or nunchuk, or pressing a button) it makes the sound of a kick drum, snare, or hi-hat.
I've been rocking out to my mp3's for the last hour :D
In other words... I cannot fucking wait for a Drum Hero game for the wii!
