Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword Announced

Publisher 2K Games issued this press release today, announcing that a new Civilization IV expansion pack titled Beyond the Sword is in the works. It promises a "massive" increase in units, buildings, and technologies, and will feature 12 new scenarios, 10 new civilizations, 16 new civilization leaders, five new wonders and much much more. Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword will be released this July.

So, when are they going to make the game and graphics engine not suck? I've gone through three completely separate machines since Civ IV was released. None of them have been able to play the game past 500 AD. It simply CTDs. These are not whimpy machines. I'm currently playing with a 7800GT and a 4800 X2. The other two machines were of comparable capabilities.

Geez. I'm so behind. I neither got very far in the base game, nor bought the first XP--since I was waiting to get through the base game.
