That being said I'm still liking the demo a lot. Cool units, great cheesy FMV and fast paced action. I'll be buying it but I can tell I (probably ) won't like it nearly as much as RA2.

Valiant effort on Tiberium Wars but SC is only going to get bigger and better from here... and they started out the game as a cosmic nebula...

The Good: The production values are top notch. Despite the long load time to initially start the game, the engine seems really optimized and efficient. The ingame menus were clean and easy to navigate (suprisingly since this is supposed to be a console game!) and the mission loading times were incredibly fast. The couple of FMV sequences seem to be pretty fun, too.
Once in the game, the controls are amazing. They really weren't kidding when they said they were going to tighten up the responsiveness. Units respond to orders instantly, which fits with the fast pace of the game. However...
The Bad: I didn't think this would be a problem, but in the wake of Supreme Commander, the control interface is terrible. No que'ing orders. No setting patrols. Every single action that you need to perform has to be given as a direct order. Want to take out a tank with some Orcas? You have to go to your airfield, drag select your Orcas and then order them to attack the tank. After they run out of gas (after attacking about 2 units) they return to the base and you have to manually select them again and select another target.
Basically, your units have no brains. You have to directly control them as if you were playing a top-down shooter rather than a strategy game. Maybe some of you will like that, but I personally think it's really tedious and annoying.
I want to command and conquer a war machine, not run around like a chicken with it's head cut off telling each one of my soldiers what he should be shooting at. But that's C&C 3 in a nutshell.

- The graphics are very nice, although sometimes it seems a little blended together (reminds me of NFS: Most Wanted). The colors are a bit desaturated, makes a bit confusing (let's see the maps on the final version, though).
- The sidebar is a nice touch, reminds of old C&C. But I don't like how it works (for me, it's still an old solution). I don't like the separation of units (soldiers/tanks/air) and the some groupings doesn't make sense for me (like placing Tiberium Silos on the "shield" tab);
- The game seems to go in a very fast pace. For one moment I thought it was in some FAST mode. I don't like games so fast, but it is a matter of personal taste.
- I'll try a little bit more with the Advanced Tactics button, but I couldn't make it work very well. Seems a little bit confusing.
- Like a fellow shacker said, the units seems brainless. It requires much micromanagement, which is a pain in the ass when having such a low zoom out.
All in all, it's a good demo and I guess it will be a good game, but I don't like those RTS games that don't innovate in even just one point. I'll pass, but I guess that all in all gamers will like.

I looked up about EA Link...
- Installs a kernel-level Windows driver which can not be easily uninstalled.
- Prevents certain debuggers from running on your system.
- Collects and sends anonymous information about your computer and software in order to validate licenses.
I didn't choose to install EA Link, but I still don't trust this one bit since it's EA. There's no way I will reboot (unless I uninstall first) unless I know what it's attempting; and it sounds as if it's attempting to modify my Windows kernel files.

This is the same problem I had with Dawn of War and other 3D RTS games. Not keeping the mouse cursor inside the actual game screen on my dual monitor setup was equally annoying. I go to move the screen right and whoops! the cursor is on the other screen.

Might be a fun game, I need to give it more time, but initial impressions are a bit mixed.
The graphics aren't bad, but aren't as good as Company of Heroes. I saw some model animation bugs, my Shock Troops were ice skating across the terrain instead of striding. Eventually they snapped out of it, but it looked fairly shoddy. Also, is there really no way to rotate the camera perspective?

Incredibly pretty graphics. The shader and particle effects are just amazing for an rts. Engaging in a battle is very spectacular with lots of awesome explosions. The game is geared more toward small, intense fights rather than slow, epic ones. The Ion Cannon sequence is incredible! The game seems to run very well for such great visuals.
The sidebar, is surprisingly good. I love the parallel production queues. The obvious advantage of the sidebar is that you can queue up a bunch of stuff while in the middle of battle, and EA executed it very well.
As for the units, they are each distinct and generally awesome. Although I miss the walker-style Mammoth, these new ones rock pretty hard too. I really want to see the other factions' units, but GDI at least looks very awesome.
Last and definitely no least, the FMV cutscenes. I'm glad to see their return. They give a great campy feel to the game, and have a good artistic feel to them. They are pretty fun to watch too, as opposed to the CGI SupCom cutscenes which were absolutely terrible.
So yes, I seem pretty happy with the game and I have been a long-time fan of the series. Glad that it seems like EA is actually doing justice to the series.
My only gripe is that I wish you could zoom out a little further. Well that and I wish that NOD was in the demo.
I'm pretty sure C&C3 is targeted at past C&C fans, and doesn't strive to be an innovative new type of gameplay. So if you're looking for an innovative & large-scale RTS, look elsewhere (and there are plenty available).
