Joining an ever growing list of publishers and independent developers, Activision today announced that it has licensed Epic Games' popular Unreal Engine 3. According to the press release, it is being used in a single currently unannounced action game.

"The Unreal Engine is one of the most technically advanced engines on the market and is a perfect fit for our upcoming action game," said Activision production head Laird Malamed. "The engine's robust suite of programming tools will enable our development team to deliver what is sure to be an amazing game experience."

No further details about the project were revealed, including a projected release period, whether it is part of an existing franchise, or whether it is headed to consoles, PC, or both.

that's the rumor anyways...they should give it to Irrational Games, or if they were still alive...Looking Glass Studios. Accursed EA, if they are making a System Shock 3, it had better come polished, delayed, have widescreen support(I dont have widescreen, but I feel for those who have to put up with the constant lack of widescreen support), must have coop, must have a good storyline, awesome balanced RPG/FPS/Horror gameplay, at least 3 classes(Navy, marines, and the psi-op guys. been a year or so, so I'm not sure that I got the names right except for the Navy(hacker/techies that don't use psi), must put a LOT of emphasis on morally and visually horrifying situations and atmosphere, and ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE a constant feeling of being completely and utterly alone, that you will have no help, and feel constantly oppressed at all times, and have that feeling constantly(you get that word...constant?), and they need to put in COOP for the SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN!!! System Shock 2 had it(in a patch) for up to 4 people...you can't have a system shock 3 without keeping at LEAST as many options as the previous game. Also, it needs to be a PC exclusive...none of this wiibox or ps360 exclusive crap, or delays for the PC version because we're waiting for them to get up to speed...PC EXCLUSIVE!!!

        I can dream :)
