  • FBI Raids Hawiian Honeymoon Hideout

    AP, Dallas, TX

In a surprise raid at a Hawiian resort, the FBI has apprehended a suspect in the hacking attempts on such business firms of Yahoo and CNN. One of the suspects has been identified as John Carmack of id software. Carmack was apprehended following a brief exchange of gunfire and plasma according to the local police spokeswoman. \"We had heard reports of a well known computer programmer on his honeymoon in the area. A local network administrator also noticed large data traffic to his suite .. and well .. we all know nobody brings a computer on his honeymoon. We estimate his arranged marriage was a cover for his hacking attempts.\"

Carmack\'s lawyer had this to say, \"This is all a big mistake. My client was here for a legitimate marriage consumation.\" When asked about the computer and lack of a wife in the room, his lawyer had no immediate comment. At Carmack\'s arrest, he was heard shouting \"Dammit I\'m never gonna get any!\"

  • #2, where does the cycle end then?

Say all the items on this checklist WERE done for the retail release. All that would happen is that this gracious community (ha!) would have another checklist ready to beat id Software over the head with. It\'s pointless.

That\'s not to say Q3A was perfect and feature-complete as it was released (because there were a lot of things missing that I was hoping for as well), but I don\'t think we\'re in the necessary position to be saying, \"should have\" and \"shouldn\'t have.\"

  • Id Software Employees to replace cast of \'Friends\'

(Associated Press, New York, New York)

In a shocking move, NBC has hired every employee at Id Software to replace the cast of friends. Additionally, the cast of friends will write software. When asked about this, NBC executive Bert Schneider said the following: \"We wanted to bring fresh blood into friends, and since there aren\'t enough female employees at id to make up the female members of the cast, we get that whole \'men in drag\' aspect, too.\" Id Software\'s Paul Steed seemed excited by the move, \"I\'ve always wanted to be an actor!\" After saying that, steed pirouetted out of the room.

Courtney Cox, one of the major Friends cast members had this to say: \"I\'ve been following John Carmack\'s work for most of his career, so I think I can probably fill his shoes. I have a new rendering architecture all worked out for our next game, and it should be fairly impressive.\" John Carmack could not be reached for comment, as he is still on his honeymoon.
