Few tips when you start a game: Shift to launch units. Tab for tac map and you can click on units to control them and right click to order them. R when you are on ships to use the crew for damage control, etc. Q and E to cycle through active units.
And i wouldnt think the PC version will be much diff

8 players, 4 on each side (us vs japan).
each side has 2 ship slots, 2 plane slots.
i played in a ship slot. out of the gate you pick what type of ship you want (cruiser, carrier, battleship or something) and the ship yard builds it. once it's built, it rolls out and you can control yourself or leave it on autopilot. you can have only 2 ships out from the shipyard. objective was to fight the americans and get one of the key japanese units to reach some point. at one point one of the players controlling a plane spot dropped out and i think the game gave control of the planes to me so i was able to cycle through ships and planes. it looks like you fly 3 planes at once. you're in the center and you have 2 wings, flight controls seem pretty basic.
the game seems like it could be fun... if you're into that type of game. for me the action was kinda slow (ships move slow) and once you're in range to launch an attack, it's just aiming your reticle at your target while making 'strategic' circles in the water. again, i think if you're into that type of military sim/action game, you'll like it, it's not a genre that i usually play.
might give it another go this weekend.
