Battlefield 2142 Booster Pack In The Works

10

It's not much of a surprise, but Planet Battlefield reports that a Battlefield 2142 booster pack called Northern Strike is in the works. According to a product page, which has since been taken down but is available as a screenshot here, the booster pack will add three new maps, two vehicles and ten new rewards and unlock items. A Spring 2007 release date is mentioned.

Is the booster free? Unlikely since the others aren't. When will EA learn.

Yet another reason I stand by my decision not to buy BF 2142.

I also stand by that decision.

Yep. These booster packs only serve to splinter the community and piss off customers. Why can't more devs act like valve (ok there are quite a few like id, epic, etc) that give content away for *free* to keep their game alive and entice people that it's still worth buying their game years after release because people will still be playing it.

seems like it should be now that the game has ads in it, but it probably won't be.

Yea, more like $20 to keep playing with your clan. Money better spent on WoW.

I started the boycott after Battlefield 1942. I really liked BF1942, but due to lack of bug fixing and too many of these rip-off expansion packs, I stopped buying them.
