Battlefield 2142 Booster Pack In The Works

I remember when maps and extras came free in an update with bug fixes...

I really enjoyed bf2, and I admit I was suckered into buying every expansion.. and then I hardly ever played them. It also kind of pissed me off.. i was going to buy bf2142 but then I played it on my friends computer at a lan party and was not very impressed.

Is the booster free? Unlikely since the others aren't. When will EA learn.

Yet another reason I stand by my decision not to buy BF 2142.

Bf2142 is a better game than bf2. I don't understand the crap people are always saying about this game. You guys will complain about paying 10 dollars for content that you may get months of play from but have no problem paying 10 dollars for a crappy 1.5 hour movie or $50 for a game like doom3 that had no replay value and no multiplayer that anyone would play.

2142 is pretty cool, like all first versions of Battlefields, then the fucking PLAYER FRAGMENTATION sets in and god dammit it fucking sucks.

Ugh. 2142 seems like it could be patched and players would resoundingly support it with enthusiasm - why do they set themselves up for the angry mob EVERY time? Road to Rome? Secret Weapons? Special Forces? etc etc etc.

I have golds in support and assault (which requires 50 hours in EACH class as a prerequisite) and I'm working on recon now. It is indeed a fun game, lots of action and titan mode is pretty cool. But once again, the player base will be fractured and I'll probably end up getting the booster.

I mean hell, I will need something ACTION ORIENTED to balance against the might of WoW:TBC and getting back into questing for hours..... hehehe

I believe the boosterpack cow and the play for shiny things boat is just about all used up.

I wonder if people will eventually catch onto the idea that playing for trinkets doesn't substitute good gameplay.

Fuck off with all the expansions that destroy the playerbase.

Haha, i just let the whole battlefield series, including the original 1942 and anything attached to the series go flying right above my head.

Even with all the news, the hype, the crazy excitement and fun people seem to be experiencing, i could never identify with any of it. Oh, yes, i tried the demos for all the games, including 2142, still nothing.

Am i missing something here?

Yes to 2142, no booster packs.

Hell yes! My #1 desire was more unlocks...so glad they are doing it. Also cool to see they can be used on core maps not included in the expansion.

2142 is so much better than BF2.

man it's sad what became of the Battlefield franchise. I lived Bf 1942, BF:V i didn't mind but it wasn't my thing, BF 2 left a bad taste in my mouth and bf2142 i couldn't get into.
