Funcom sent out a press release, announcing their adventure game Dreamfall: The Longest Journey is now on Steam. For the first two weeks the game is available for $29.99, the price will go up to $39.99 after that.

Is it just me or is steam turning into the place where games that didn't do that well in retail go to try and get a second chance?

Obviously there are exceptions to this but it seems like for the most part steam is like a really well stocked second hand game store.

Don't get me wrong I actually really like that rare and difficult to find games are showing up on steam (psychonauts).

  My only problem, is that most games have First Hand prices. Why pay for an electronic only copy when I get get it on DVD for the same price and avoid the long download time?
  
  I'd be more inclined to make the purchase on steam (directly) if it was cheaper than the price at a B&M store.
