by Maarten Goldstein, Jan 10, 2007 7:32am PSTBeing the basketball nut that I am, I picked up Seven Seconds or Less: My Season on the Bench with the Runnin' and Gunnin' Phoenix Suns by SI writer Jack McCallum the other day, and made my way through its 315 pages yesterday. It starts off a bit dry, and I don't care for McCallum at times chiming in with his own opinions and interpretations of what he sees happening, but overall it's a good and a funny read, and it offers a nice behind-the-scenes look at one of the NBA's best teams the last couple of years. Now if only someone would do a good book on the Mark Cuban era Mavericks.. Movie: Well, that's good news.. snakes on crack.

Things of the future should be made to last. Everything is now a throw-away and it's appalling. The new iThing is gonna come out next year. Microsoft's gonna "revolutionize" something next year. Oh, and guess what, something else is gonna be "revolutionized". There will be 10 revolutions next year. All of these technological innovations are just the intergration of other devices into one "hub", or a telephone. Damned if we want seperate useful things. Oh, and it'll all be "wireless" and you'll be able to share "protected content" with other "people". There is no "innovation" in any of these items, it's just, "how can we make the life of a 20 something, bi-sexual , spiked-hair having douchebag a bit easier?" OH, YEAH! Let's put everything he uses on one device. WORD UP "NIGGA". What happened to the technological advancements we were looking forward to in the 80's? It seems as though they are being IGNORED just to spread technobutter and strawberry fucking cyberjelly on the face of every YUPPIE in NORTHERN AMERICA for another YEAR until it's time to re-excite them after they've become used to the flavor. Things of the future should be made to LAST.

I lost my lantern! After following the monkey through the fog, s/he drops the lantern. I picked it up and it said 'the lantern is empty after the monkey used it'.
I walked through the tunnel and end up at the bird's shop. I got some oil in a bottle (accidentally stole it, now I get attacked going back in there :[ ), anyway, the lantern is gone! I have oil and no lantern to fill, wtf. It's not equiped to my d-pad, it's not in my inventory, and it's not back where the monkey dropped it.
Is this some bug where it disappeared, or was it supposed to disappear, or am I a giant retard? Plz halp :(

I'm looking for music something like the introduction to Doin' Time on Sublime's album Second Hand Smoke. I'm referring to the saxophone/piano part of the intro, you can listen to it at Amazon(first 30s is enough to get the gist). I'm just curious what kind of music this would be, is it simply jazz, a certain subset of jazz, any artists or groups like this that I could check out?

Hindsight, MS should have provided the ability for friends to form clans and to then do team rank play, but as to only affect clan ranking, not player ranking.
It's almost impossible to read about serious issues (like issues with the new maps - Raven Down is just too small and too many grenades from what I've played, but that's only a couple matches).

I updated the little site I made for Rufus. I added a copy of his X-ray, a new picture of his healing face, info on the charity we're donating the money to and a short clip of him "walking". He's got a fancy pimp walk now :( Hopefully that will get better as he heals.

Loving this game.. got it back in December when they had a promo to buy it online. I believe the US release date is in March...
Anyway I've started making some tracks, thus far I've made one Stadium & one Desert track. Well the Desert one isn't exactly finished... well I think it's ready to go but I want some people to play it see what they think.

This track is the desert track, its a pretty fast & fun track over all. Full of quite a few big jumps. But I tried to keep it short, it shouldn't be too hard to finish it in under 1 minute.

The phone was expensive and I thought I read enough reviews, howardboards to look for the obvious things that suck about the phone.
It has a nice camera and mp3 features. I've been looking at wearing less electronic gizmos where I go so I went with this phone.
It says it plays mp3s but it doesn't you have to convert them to WMV, a firmware upgrade recently removed this feature. Any file you put on the phone must be less then 30 characters.
There is no headphone jack, it needs an attachment for the headphones connector. Now I have to carry accessories where I go with my phone :\
The camera is 3.2 megapixels. Megapixels isn't everything but you can't zoom in/out with the camera. WTF. Not to mention the camera needs a moment to auto focus and center on whatever you look at. So far everyone taking a picture has covered the lense with their finger partially because when you hold the phone naturally this is what happens.
Oh as a cell phone it works great! Not worth the money though >:
I'm probably gonna take it back today and get a skimpy model and use the difference for a decent mp3 player and camera... and a belt to hold my pants up :[

The shack is a nightmare to read at 1280x720 on a 15.4" - I couldn't imagine a 1920x1080 model or 1680x1050.

Honeymoon is over. Wow I got burned by the saves. These end dungeons are really fricken long. I had completed EUREKA and obtained all the awesome weapons and rank 8 spells and stuff. I'm positive I saved the game, because I teleported out of there, saved, and then headed back in to do the Cyrstal Tower. I'm sure of it.
About 6 levels into this place I start running into dragons that take an unreasonably long time to fight given that they are basically trash mobs. Anyway I make a bone head button mashing mistake and have my Devout melee attack instead of party heal and wiped my party.
I go to reload, and no save game :( All those weapons and spells gone. i'm back in the courtyard, probably about 3 hours behind...
FWIW I have a DR/NI/SU/DV now. I gave up all of my high job chars. I'm still a little disappointed I can't effectivly use Onion Knight, since they have horrible stats until you hit lvl 92ish. And I'm pretty sure the game will be over much sooner than that.

True Ninja Death Match
Kill three people with a knife: You look like a Ninja, you get 200 health, and you run faster. Kill six people with a knife: You turn completely invisible and you are limited to KNIFE only.
Piss Mod
For the moment it allows anyone to piss anywhere and at anytime. Players are also frozen while doing it. In the configuration you can choose things like the effect color, the heights of the line points above the floor, the sounds to use, the effect width, the start and stop delays, etc.. People will retrieve some health while peeing.

I'm trying to do the editing for this "music video" and I dunno wtf i'm doing heh. I've come to the conclusion that the inability to be very precise in editing in windows movie maker means i have to install this copy of premiere I was given. Now, I know the adobe layout fairly well, but i've never used premiere much.
Here's my big question: When the filming was done, the song was playing in the background and the actors lipsynched it. I obviously want to stick the 'studio' version of the song in, but I'm running into problems with actually getting the lipsynching to match the song. Is it just a lot of fine tuning required, or is there some trick to this I'm missing?
