So the big announcement in nerd land today is the iPhone and Apple TV. Apple unveiled all kinds of information about the iPhone which is also the widescreen/touchscreen iPod people have been talking about for so long. Here are a few bits.

iPhone (website) - Cingular exclusive, launching June - $499/$599 price points for 4G/8G models - Runs OSX, No Stylus - More pics info AppleTV (website) - WiFi b+g+n / HDMI / 720p / etc. - Ordering now, launching February - Syncs with up to 5 machines - Works with iTunes of course
Where is our standalone widescreen touchie iPod you commies.

  • Was looking at phones the other day but didn't end up buying anything. I read the keynote transcript and saw the picsd of the iphone and can only say that it is pretty much everything I want in a phone in a form factor I want with the kind of interface I fucking expect (not just from Apple, but I can say that they are one of the few companies who are pretty intelligent about design).

So presumably I can use gmail on this phone as a regular pop service, and hopefully the damn thing will still play mp3s with no hassle or be DRMed up like Vista is going to be.

Petty they announced a 2008 Asia launch :/ Phones here are so insane. They have so many features, but the interfaces are just as shit as they have always been, so it's difficult to find something that suits me and I've ended up using a cheap prepay model I bought from a convenience store. I want the iPhone now.*

*I am definitely no apple fanboy by the way, but the iPhone seems so awesome compared to every single phone I have looked at recently...
