My belated Christmas present to you is a smidge sample of my NES Megamix
http://sleepy.viscidity.com/cygnus/NES-MEGAMIX-SAMPLE.mp3 (798k mp3)
~40 minutes of pure 8-bit Nintendo Ultra-Hardcore Colon-Tearing Anal Rape Hiroshima-Bombing-Recreation Music. Featuring music from games such as Double Dragon, Battletoads, The Megaman Series, Kid Icarus, Zelda, Metal Gear, Castlevania, and More
The megamix will of course be free but it will be availible on CD for free as well if you go to the BYOC in Quakecon (where I will be shamelessly promoting my terrible music ) Thanks UGH

I said Vegas was crap, but ended up liking it, so there's still hope, but I guess I'm having a problem getting past VP's kiddyness, or something like that. Not even past the first night yet, so I'll give it a bit more of a shot.

www.isitafruit.com
I got bored the other day and couldn't remember if a tomato was a fruit or a vegetable, so I made this site to help other people.
There are a few foods that are missing and I'm working on adding them (i.e. watermelon). I basically just found lists online, but they apparently weren't very complete. Oh well. I'm still kinda working on it, but it's kinda neat.
man i need a life and or a new girlfriend :(

Over the past 36 hours I have managed to put together what I consider to be a comprehensive list of Wii finding tools. Using them I've put together my own personal Wii monitoring station. I've got two different websites SMSing my cellphone when they think Wiis are on sale (for wireless monitoring) and throughout my house I have coloful Wii in-stock monitor screens displayed on different computers. Today I begin stalking the stores for returns. I only hope my backup plan for when/if I get an SMS when I'm out of the house works.
So if you have more websites, forums, strategies, etc to share please link them. But if not, atleast you can find mine in reply...

Thought i'd just give a shout out to Mark, Chris and Elizabeth for the awesome podcasting their all doing. Pretty enjoyable just loading them all into a playlist and letting them run in the background while i'm doing some work or surfing the interwebs.
You just need to get GeorgeB3DR to say atleast SOMETHING for the Duke Forever segment.
Keep up the good work fellas (and ladies)

though the reverend horton heat tune on GH2 is for the maximum win, seriously. it was an ok song to begin with, but the frantic pace in the game is awesome.
and the co-op with two guitars is great.
It was mysteriously opened some point. Luckily, my Webcam is motion activated: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPIRnmNl_rY . A ha!
The video showcases a few of the containing items to boot.

OK, this will seem pretty ridiculous but for all my computer and tech / networking knowledge I know jack about televisions. I have an older television set but not ancient by any means, purchased brand new last year (discount TV model). It has the red, yellow, and white prongs on the back as well as an S-Video connection.
Will the Wii component cables work with this kind of TV and provide a video quality increase? Worth getting them? I have to finish FF 12 before starting on Zelda but want to be ready for it to enjoy it in the fullest when that time comes. :) My fiancee and I are huge Zelda fans!
P.S. The Wii ROCKS!!! Although my girl beats me in Wii Boxing on a regular basis :(

It's well established that the PS3 has numerous flaws which it will probably eventually overcome (high price, scaler issues, backwards compat issues, some complaints about the system memory structure, no IR port for universal remotes, no rumble, non user-replaceable controller batteries, etc.) and the Wii has some drawbacks too (no digital sound, no 720p/1080i, silly friend code system, no HD, limited horsepower, can't play DVDs, etc.)
Do you think the 360 has any obvious hardware flaws like these? Ignoring unit failure, I just mean in terms of basic design my only real complaint is I think the hard drive should be bigger. Aside from that, I really think MS hit it out of the park in terms of console design this time around. Seems like all they need to do is keep garnering major 3rd party support and expand their genre base/make inroads in Japan.

Kieron: The choice was between a one word entry along the line of "BASTARDS!!?!?!" and an essay. I'm going to try and walk a line between them.
Put it like this: Only reason this isn't top five is because I'm the only guy who voted for the charts who actually played the bastard thing. This is as good as a RTS has got in the time I've been a full-time games journalist. In fact, in terms of a quiet re-imagining of what the mainstream RTS could be, the only comparison which comes to mind is something outside of the genre: Half-life. It's the Half-life of RTS. And like Half-Life, for the next year-and-a-half every game in the genre is going to be looking a little old and passé because it hasn't caught up intellectually with the leap that Relic managed with this. The only sad thing is that because it wasn't quite the sales success it clearly should have been - more than anything else, I suspect the relative antipathy around it outside of genre-hardcore is at least partially to blame for WW2 burn-out - means that maybe rather than opening a new chapter in what RTS games could be (like Half-Life did the FPS), it'll rather be sidelined and ignored. And we'll all be poorer for it.
To choose games that are clearly going to turn up higher in the list, it's better than Oblivion, it's more innovative than Zelda, it's more violent and beautiful than Gears of War and it's eight hundred times the game than Final Dicking Dipshit Fantasy XII is.
Don't let this game fade in to obscurity D: It's too god damn awesome. Everyone sort of shrugs and says "oh but Supreme Commander is coming next year!!!!11". Fuck Supreme Commander. I'm bored of the beta already. Company of Heroes is easily the best PC game this year. For my money it's the best game on any platform this year. I've played the shit out of it (over 320 hours so far) like I have no other game since Half-Life with its thriving mod community. Play. This. Game. Even if you don't like RTS games. Online too motherfuckers.

This right here shows my experimental unit, called the Fatboy, rolling towards or enemies base
http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/9477/fatboyil1.jpg
the fatboy is basically a gigantic tank with 4 battleship cannons on it that has its own force field. it can also create untis (its a mobile factory) and has a landing pad to repair and refuel planes. Mostly though, its a bad motherfucking siege tank
This is what remains after we had our way with one of our enemies' bases...
http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/8670/craterfv0.jpg
the big as crater in the middle is where his commander used to be. in the distance you can see us moving on to his ally, and you can even spot my ally's t4 spiderbot marching in for extra lol
here is us marching on the remaining enemy's base. he has no chance to survive

this is what its like on the receiving end of our hax:

The DS is the little handheld that could.
Very impressed at how much Square-Enix is squeezing out of it.

Pretty cool stuff. I tried Raving Rabbids or whatever it's called, just a few mini games. I found it funny to bonk rabbits over the head. Cool mini-game type of game. I wanted to try Wii sports but my neighbor was insistant on playing Rabbids. It's his after all.
Overall impression: I liked it.

How do you live? I took a look at my bank history, and I realized that living like a college student I spend around $23,000 a year (this includes everything from rent to tuition to going out to dinner). What does it cost to be you?
