I tried one (that was in beta i think) which wasn't bad, but after a reinstall of everything - i can't remember the name now.

Quake 4 isn't even on the list. Doesn't seem like the maps will get much use.

As others noted, Quake 4 should have been better supported from the beginning, once you disappoint too many players after release, they probably won't return.

I remixed q3wcp15 for Q4CTF a while back but after the geometry and texturing I got tired/annoyed at the lighting & optimization stage and I stopped working on it. First because the map is open in slightly unusual ways which fight a little with the Q4/D3 style of lighting, second because I wasn't happy with my ability to make the lighting look good, and finally my job was just owning my free time around about then.
I'm almost in the mood to pick it up again but I'm pretty sure that I will still get frustrated at it.
If anyone is a wizard at Q4/D3 lighting/optimization and wants to collaborate on finishing this map, for this contest, lemme know. I can provide a download link to the current version if anyone wants to verify whether it is worth their time.
Some older pictures from before I had the center area textured:

(Please don't tell me that remakes are lame. :) On some days I'd agree with you. I was short on time and thought that revisiting an old map of mine would be easier... more fool me.)
