Fansite inCrysis has a message from Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli, responding to rumors that Crysis will be delayed. Pretty much true he says, as "Crysis is an ambitious game in so many aspects and much of what we are doing will be a genuine first for the gaming industry: some of this stuff is really hard and just takes time to get right".

well no wonder even the trailer seems to lag and i dont think that many people would enjoy this game that much so hopefully they will tweak the game and actually not only people with monster computers that can play this.. (Doom3 anyone) ?

Man Ive been a hard core gamer for 16+ years now on the pc and Ive got to say this has been the worst year for great games coming out on the pc more than I ever remember. I miss those years where we would read plans from developers and the community seemed closer and not so commercialized.

Remember the banter between Unreal and Quake 2 with the plans and fanboys from each side? God just that was entertaining to read!

Not really surprising, it seems to be common practice these days. EP2/TF2/Portal, ET:QW, Supreme Commander, The Burning Crusade, and UT2007, to name a few others that have been delayed.

It would be awesome if he said "Well we figured out if we released it next month no one would have a system good enough to play it on - mainly because they don't exist yet - and since people hate playing a game more than six months old for some reason, we're delaying it to sell more copies."
