S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Preview

There's a S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl preview on GameSpot, going hands-on with the singleplayer and multiplayer modes. Mew media is included. S.T.A.L.K.E.R will (finally) ship early next year.

This game looks great in theory, FPS with RPG elements to it, inventory, customizable weapons, etc, but in that video, there was no feedback when firing a weapon. No blood splatters on enemies, they didn't jerk or reel when they got hit or anything.

I hope they don't have a great tech demo of a game that messes up the really important nitty gritty aspects of gameplay.

Parts of it kind of remind me of Far Cry - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Good environment for a game. There's a great photo book called "Zones Of Exclusion" about Chernobyl - some samples here...
