Verizon is currently running a contest called "50 Aliens, 50 Days," giving away--surprise, surprise--50 Alienware PCs, one per day, to users of Super Computer International's Xfire-challenging game browser and messaging service PlayLinc. The fundamental specs of the Aurora 3500 systems to be given away are listed below:

Alienware has such terrible customer service that I almost feel sorry for the people that win these.

I had a girlfriend that had a laptop well over $3000 from them that had problem after problem. After like 7 phone calls and what totalled to around 10 hours, she finally got them to fix the problem (over heating & dead wireless).

those specs are pretty nice - should be a decent PC for gaming for sure. if you have a PC you're about to reformat anyway or a second PC you dont really use, might as well give it a shot cuz there'd be nothing to lose then by installing their spyware =)
