No more console launches, what are we going to do now! Well, one thing is that you'll be seeing a few more articles as Chris and David check out a number of available Wii games. Me, I'll be making my way through Gears of War. Great stuff so far (early Act 3). Also on FileShack

  • This post is in celebration of Rayman Raving Rabbids, quite possibly the Wii's most underrated game. And to illustrate, I have a story.

You see, I threw a party last night. A gaming party, in celebration of the console launches. But not just any party, oh no. You see, I am the president of a little university organization called the Texas Gaming Association, and it's for.. you get the idea. Anyway, I hooked us up with Red Bull and EA to bring in 4 LCDs, a ton of bean bag chairs, 360s and a Wii.

We offered up a couple games to people who'd bring their systems to share with everyone: Resistance for the PS3, and Rayman for the Wii.

Nobody brought a system. Oh, people had PS3s and Wiis, but they were unwilling to open them up and play with them. So, I ran home and got my Wii and brought it back to the party. When it was about 11 or midnight, we decided that nobody else would bring their Wii, so I made myself the recipient of Rayman and broke it open for people to play with. For the last several hours, people had been enamored with Zelda and Wii Boxing, but Rayman took the hilarity to new heights.

I started the first game, and was required to swing a giant cow around my head and then throw it like a shot put. This brought the crowd to riotous laughter. I then passed the Wiimote on to another player, and what had been a gaming party became a Wii party. Everyone crowded around and took turns on the mini-games. People laughed, people cried, and it was all because of the ridiculous gameplay that Rayman had to offer.

Thanks, Rayman, for saving my party! I can't wait to play with you in the privacy of my home.
