I shuffled everyone. I should explain a bit about how the shuffle worked so people aren't surprised about their regional pairing:

I put the "global" option in as a choice to say "If I get paired with a person outside my country, no big deal, I can send wherever". It isn't a guarantee that you'll be sending out of the country. Generally those ouside the US who checked the global box ended up sending to someone in the US. Only a few inside the US who checked global were assigned someone outside.

Unless you got yourself or if you didn't check global and you were assigned an international shacker, I will not be changing your buddy.

I did not make any divisions by post count. Everyone is in the mix for everyone.

Im tempted to stroll up an hour before opening and just walk in front of the line, fuck em'.

Well, that's kinda neat. FaviconizeTab extension for Firefox will shrink user-selected tabs to a single favicon to save space. Handy for the links that you always keep open--latestchatty, Google Reader, etc.

Saw two things today. Zune and Wii.

Zune: Pretty cool. A nice, neat little package and it worked quite well. However, it's a MS product and bound to crippled in some way. I'd rather just spend the money on a iPod.

Wii: Brought my 3 year old daughter to EB games to see how she liked it. It is, in fact, easy enough for a 3 year old to use. She picked up on the remote quickly and was moving the little hand around clicking on shit. When you turn you hand upside down with the remote in it, the little hand cursor on the screen does the same, kinda cool! I had to drag her away from it screaming.

The bad: The only game they had on it was excite truck. It was horrible. It looked like something from the land of Game Cube and it was just a piece of shit. I can't believe this is the game they put into the demos, it did nothing for it.

The remote: There is lag. You quickly get use to it, and in fact forget about it, but, if anyone is seriously thinking they will be playing a light saber type game with this thing they should be prepare, it's just not *that* accurate. I'm still on the fence about it. On one hand my daughter dug the remote and the hand/eye cord. to use it is good for her. On the other, the one game they had showing was a joke, not even worthy.

I think my slave cylinder went out on my car. I got in to go to lunch, get to about 30 and try to shift into 3rd and it wont go, I shift it back into 2nd but its difficult and the clutch pedal doesn't depress like normal, feels like its deflated if that makes sense. Theres a small leak now under the car and the only fluids in my car are engine oil, tranny oil, coolant and windshield washers. Engine is running fine and theres no coolant leak. =((((( There goes the paycheck on Friday.

So what's with the PS3 backwards compatibility problems? I was out of the loop the last few days and heard from non-nerd friends that the ps3 has big problems. I checked the shack front page and whaddaya know, it's true.

More than a few AAA titles from ps2 (recent ones, too) that won't work very well, or at all on ps3.

Did Sony really say that some ps2 games work fine but JUST don't have sound? This is 2006, right? Not 1986 when sound wasn't integral to the gameplay?

Saw about 15 kids camped out at my local Walmart (which is not open 24 hours). They're on line for the PS3.

I asked one kid if he was getting a Nintendo Wii, and he said, "What?" I repeated my question, and he was like, oh umm maybe. He had no idea what I was talking about. ??? Must just be getting a PS3 to sell it on eBay I'm thinking.

Sin Episodes isn't too bad so far. Storyline and characters are as bad as the first game, but it really feels like a modern Duke 3D. That title menu song was a nice surprise, too.

How long does it normally take to clear this sucker?

Hmm. I don't know what to do.

I want(ed) a Dell 2407 monitor, mainly with the intention of playing back HD-DVD movies in 1080p.

But, from what I learned yesterday, the 360 when hooked up to this monitor through VGA will output at 1920x1080, but the monitor cannot do 1:1 at the resolution, therefore it stretches it to 1920x1200. For games, I probably won't mind/notice that much, but for movies, that's just not cool.

So, on the flip side, I was thinking, if I plug the HD-DVD drive into my computer instead, then I can play the movies at the original aspect ratio, and it'll have the black bars on the bottom and top. However, from what people have seen, the Japanese version of WinDVD8 (Which works with the XBOX 360 HD-DVD drive) only plays back HD-DVD at 540p.

Whether this is because of HDCP or AACS it's hard to know for sure. I don't know if my video card will be compliant with HDCP, I'm pretty sure it's not. (7800GT). So there is no real point getting a 1920x1200 monitor, if I can't even play back HD-DVD movies at the original 1080p.
