World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Burning Later
by Maarten Goldstein, Oct 24, 2006 5:53am PDTFollowing rumors on the internets, Blizzard today officially confirmed that the World of Warcraft expansion pack The Burning Crusade has been delayed. It is now scheduled for a January release. Closed-beta testing of the expansion began earlier this month.
"We appreciate the enthusiasm surrounding World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, and we're excited about putting the finishing touches on all of the new content," said Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We feel confident that the extra time spent polishing the game will result in the high-quality experience that our players expect and deserve."

If the new "honor system" means it's going to take 60 tokens to get a Lobotomizer... then I'd damn well get exalted now.
I'm 11000/21000 through revered, and in my Horde battlegroup I've won exactly two of the games along the way, which is probably out of 30 or 40 games. In other words, to get a level 70 Lobotomizer I'll probably have to do even more games than it took to get exalted currently, and then I'll have to do another slightly-less-than 40 to get a Don Julio's.

MMOs need constant, major content updates, and not releasing before the holidays will hurt a bit, Im sure. I bet a lot of people who quit and were on the fence will just skip it since they quit once already and they wont have the holiday free time to get back into it.

Horde players, if you want to see how badly some things are bugged, go try the quest "Kill the Messenger". Get it from the Troll guy right across from Nazgrel in Thrallamar.
Did they raise the level cap in beta yet? It was still stuck at 67 last I heard. (I'm only 64 right now)

The only good thing about the delay is that we'll get to raid with our 40-man raid groups a bit longer (assuming they break up when the expansion goes live).
