Doesn't Tim Schaefer not like doing sequels?

Unneccesary sequals which are just cash ins, yes, but if you beat Psychonauts you'll see thats not the case...

So I've heard. I like the idea of building your reputation on the company name and games rather than milking a series.

I asked a Double Fine worker at E3 about that and she said the last thing Tim Shafer wants is to see another Psychonauts game. he worked on that for like four years or so, got fucked by microsoft, then the sales totally blew. No publisher would ever finance such a project, and apparently, Shafer said it failed for a number of reasons.

      1. hero being a little boy. Not many people can connect with that.
      2. Title: WTF is a psychonaut? Nobody knew what the game even was.
      3. other stuff

So just change the name to Olsennauts or something. Actually they wouldn't look too out of place in the Psychonauts universe given how they look in real life.

All very true, I'm glad Tim realised those reason (though not surprised, he ain't stupid). Those are pretty much the reasons I took so long to play (and subsequently adore) the game, the appeal just wasn't initially obvious at all.

"hero being a little boy. Not many people can connect with that."

What? Isn't that true of 90% of all Japanese RPGs and they sell boffo
