Sorry folks, this will be a dud. Everyone pimping it up probably thought Q4 was going to be great too. I love Quake, but after D3 & Q4 borefests i saw the writing on the wall. People love ET b/c it's free. Still the number of people playing that has dropped a lot. Combine a known free game name w/ the bad rap Quake got after unrealistic expectations, this may move at $19.99. I'm no 2142 fanboy, but look at all the BF2 players compared to all the quake/ET players. I predict poor sales of QWars. Let quake rest for a few years.

As fantastic as this game looks, I'm actually annoyed by the slow trickle of "been there, seen that" screenshots. Damnit, we know the player models looks delicious, and we're all dying to get into those jungle and burned-out urban environments. But, releasing 2 screenshots that don't show anything new is only reminding me of how bummed I am that the game is going to be 6 months late.

I don't often say this, but I seriously wish they would just go on a media blackout now :(

The lighting in that first shot looks incredibly realistic. The only other artist that has that kind of knack for replicating realistic lighting is one of the guys that works at Techland.
