Counter-Strike: Source Beta Soon

According to the latest Valve news update available through Steam, they'll start beta testing the Counter-Strike: Source weapon pricing change on Wednesday. The news item mentions that major CS websites should soon have information on how to join this beta.

      Why do I have a feeling this is just going to make AKs and M4s cost 5000 dollars and everyone will run around with 200 dollar AUGs and SIGS.

        Because for the first few weeks it proably will.

        Then those newly popular weapons will increase in price and the expensive and unused ones will become cheaper. Its the whole point of the system.

          Eventually I think the prices will stabilize to new values.

            Bingo. I'm pretty sure after time, everything will sort of reach a stable value, a value that reflects how much the gun is actually used.

        AWP will be cheap due to the many servers that ban it (and thus lower "Demand")

      Valve's gotta make NV useful by adding dark map areas...it was only truly useful in the Militia tunnels, but then they took out the lightswitch controls. :(
