i have a 3.4 dual core p4 Oc to 3.82, evga geforce 7950gt 512mb gfx card, and 2gb of corsair memory running at DDR2 800.... my demo ran high settings and i had 58fps average through out the game. some people have complained also about bf2142 as well but forr the most part it looks like that theese games will be running at a minimum of 1.5 gb
even so it reminded me of exactly what FEAR is for better or worse. a really nice combat engine with levels so repetitive you've seen the whole game 2 minutes in.

On the negative note, i got serious bad FPS i dunno if its cause of bad coding but the demo also lacked thoose effects like shooting holes in walls etc.. yet i got such crap fps in the blood room.

Playability: I have a 3.2ghz P4 with a 9800 Pro and it ran fine until I got to the "blood room" as others have called it. I played with most settings on Medium (I should note). Whatever was going on in that room though totally crippled my system. It was playable, but it was pretty bad. They need to fix that.
Other than that one room, I liked it. Kinda nifty.

First off I will let you all know that I loved F.E.A.R., gun combat has not been matched since. The demo is for an expansion, so if you never played F.E.A.R. before you should instead try the original demo for F.E.A.R. here:
http://www.fileshack.com/file.x/7483/F.E.A.R.+Singleplayer+Demo
Anyways, the demo is pretty much more F.E.A.R. which is not a bad thing, unless you did not like F.E.A.R. For those who have never played F.E.A.R., you really should pick the game up as its one of the best FPS games of 2005. Gun combat, destruction, and AI has not been matched in any other FPS since its release. For the people who complain that the game takes place in all indoors areas, its because the AI works best in these types of situations, and when it comes down to gameplay thats why we play FPS games.
The demo was quiet a surprise for me since it had very different level design than the original, with the environments changing much more quickly, which is good for those who did not like the office levels, going from the subway to an office to an open construction area, which gives the game a much better pace. The AI is still amazing, although you really need to play on higher difficulties to really appreciate it.
The new minigun is one hell of a weapon, blowing the shit out of everything, and with the destructable environments it creates some very nice eye-candy. The new enemy is pretty creepy, since its very difficult to see them, just like the watchers, which I hope there are more of in this expansion.
As for the graphics, it appears that they didn't make all that many improvements, although they didn't really need to. But for those saying it runs slower than the original game, it must be rare since it ran perfectly fine for me with everything maxed, except for soft shadows off, and 2x aa and 4x af. My system is an Athlon XP 3200, 1GB Ram, and a Geforce 6800GT 256MB with the latest drivers. As for the blood room, I was running always over 30FPS in there.
Its more of the same, but thats expected from an expansion. So if you loved or enjoyed F.E.A.R. then its a great addition, but if you didn't this won't change your mind.

2 gigs of ram
and a 7800
I was able to run with everything on max at 1024x768 with no hiccups
that being said, it wasn't anything special. It was F.E.A.R
If you played the first game you know what to expect out of this demo. I enjoyed it. Will probably pick the game up when it comes out
Is this a stand alone game or will it be an "expansion" deal? I lost my original copy when I moved out of my roomates house
